'It's just a storm in a tea cup,' someone says to the warrior of light.
But he never exaggerates his difficulties and always tries to remain calm.
And he never judges someone else's suffering.
A small detail - which does not affect him in the least - could serve to ignite the storm brewing in his brother's soul. The warrior respects the suffering of others and does not try to compare it with his own.
The cup of suffering is not the same size for everyone.

..Bonsoir Monsieur Coelho;P
1 month ago I wanted to kill myself because of pain and inflamation from Rheumatoid Arthritis.  The days were dark as night and I called my Mother to put me in a mental hospital or an old peoples home.  I had given up.  Then I saw my RA Specialist and he recommend mild chemotherapy tablets and mild morphine tablets.  I could not walk from the bed to the sofa.....Now, I am happy and healthy.  It is a miracle.  I was suffering.  But, the suffering is over.....Today, I shopped and the woman behind me was in a wheel chair.  She was not much older than me. She had gone to sleep 6 years ago and awakened parlyzed from the waist down.  Can you imagine???....(sighs)....We all suffer and just like you said "it is not the same size for everyone".....Je'taime Monsieur Coelho and have a great weekend.  I'm off Big Bear Lake, California, USA for 4th of July. We watch fireworks over the lake.  It is a tradition with my Sister and I. ........Love,....Victoria....Your Goddessa and Druid Witch ..

So true, most of the time there are no words to comfort a suffering soul. They just need a hug.

....Feelings are very personal. Our empathy often isn’t sufficient to imagine the suffering of somebody else till the moment we have to go to an equal experience. And even than all individual has another manner to handle his sufferings. The only thing we can do is: to be there, to listen, to give the feeling of understanding and human proximity.........

..How true it is...there is no comparison between the sizes of suffering...each person knows his own one but there is somebody who suffers more...there is non limit to that.........

When I was in high school, my mother had finally moved us out of the ghetto and into a better living arrangement. Yet all of my years in the ghetto still had an impact on my soul. I began dating a "rich girl" from the suburbs and once said to her something akin to "You've never gone through what I've had to deal with living in that hell."

And she simply replied, "I know. But, Hunter, all suffering is relative. And I too have suffered deeply in life." And that was a distinguished moment of learning for me. It simply made sense.

Io penso che il guerriero della luce non fa confronti e con nessuno si confronta, né nel male né nel bene, lui è nella luce.

Yes so true !! Respect for another's woe & calm in our own is the essential ingredient to strenthen one's soul. Thanx Paulo for this very thought provoking concept.

how relative pain and suffering are... can be simply explained in physical terms of how a small dose can merely tickle on person and kill another in seconds... we are all different. we deserve to be treated equally but with this profound understanding that being equal doesn't mean being the same.

..Came here to find some inspiration and guidance and here it is!! It is important for me not only to understand this concept but to embrace it in my everyday life. ........I am struggling to comprehend people's suffering at the moment but this will help me forget the logical path of comprehension and have the  humility to accept it with true compassion and regard to the sufferer.........Que Deus te abencoe sempre Paulo - com carinho ..

That is a very important lesson to learn.. I've met several people who said that I didn't know pain, just because I hadn't been through the same things as them. That's a mean thing to say to someone, as you've said before, only You can know how great your pain is.

..Ever since I were a child I have always been able to "sense" this pain in other's hearts... Never really understanding why, when I was a "listener" who was not really heard... I have never used this "gift"   as a measure or comparison to myself, but I have learnt great compassion... I am still learning so much... Still "listening"... We ALL are such special LOVING SOULS... BLESSINGS of JOY to you Paulo... Your beautiful writing speaks to my SOUL...  ..  ...{wow...I really shared that, but it is true!}   ..
