Trace Elements is a Texas based recording band project spearheaded by vocalist Tracy Ready, whose twenty year career as a Director of Photography in television and documentary production has been interspersed with a passion for music with sporadic recordings and live performances as a vocalist in Dallas and San Antonio, Texas.

The band is a culmination of thirty years of collaboration in the music business for Tracy, and consists of some of the finest blues, rock and jazz musicians that Texas has to offer.

The first Trace Elements studio CD "Welcome to the Color Bar" (working title) is in production, (every time we can scratch a few coins together!), with initial sessions completed at January Sound in Dallas and Blue Cat Studios in San Antonio.
These initial sessions produced 7 tracks, featuring some very special guest artists.
In San Antonio, legendary Texas keyboardist (and Grammy Award Winner) Augie Meyers played keyboards on 3 songs, and accordion on one - the hilarious Tex Mex voodoo track "Elvis es mi Gato" a track that vocalist Tracy Ready co-wrote with Augie back in 1999. Additionally Augie played on his "Prosperity Street", and one of Tracy and guitarist Kevin Lewis compositions "Turning Blue." Augie's son, the monster drummer (and web guru!) Clay Meyers contributed congas and other percussion to two songs as well.
In Dallas, blues great Hash Brown contributed some outstanding guitar and harmonica tracks to two blues classics, T-Bone Walker's "Tell Me What's the Reason" and the Willie Dixon tune "I Love the Life I Live."
Additionally the band recorded another original written by Tracy and Mark Boardman, called "The Flood", and Jim Stafford's funny blues rock tune "Bits and Pieces." Keyboardist / Vocalist Dana Clark played keys on 2 songs, and guitarist Jason Meyers played rhythm on "Bits and Pieces."

The core band laid down some incredible tracks. The players are Sparky Montoya - Keyboards, Kevin Lewis - guitars, Mike Beall - drums, and John Echols - bass. You can hear the rough mix of "Tell Me What's the Reason" - first track that plays on our myspace page. www.myspace.com/traceelementstx
The recording will continue with another tracking session this fall, and mix down and completion by 2009. Co-Producing the project are vocalist Tracy Ready and Composer / Arranger Sal Salvador.
Engineering at January Sound - Tye Robison; Engineering at Blue Cat - Joe Trevino. These folks all were true professionals to work with, and we appreciate their skill and dedication to the craft.

We'll keep you posted...
Thanks
