So I'm sitting here, recording a new Gang Green record (their first in like ten years!), having crazy flashbacks to my punk rock teenaged self; how cool I thought I'd be if I were to meet me ten years ago; how my mind would be totally blown, etc etc. It's kinda crazy, and I'd expect myself to have stories about wild studio parties, beer flowing like water, and a rather expensive studio repair bill.
Instead, I'm hanging out with three of the coolest, most down-to-earth rock and roll dudes conceivable, just taking in their amazing (and generally hilarious) stories, and recording them as they write and record an album with an enthusiasm and no-bullshit approach like they hadn't ever stopped and were still barely into their twenties.
Of course, that's not to say there haven't been and won't continue to be shenanigans...
Anyway, it's freakin' unbelievable, and it's freakin' inspiring. I'm so fucking psyched to be here right now, I can't even come up with a smart-ass blog about it.
This is so ridiculously cool.
