Hello to everyone and a happy newly birthed 2008! Wow, I can't believe 2007 is over already. It was a good year for the most part, although a lot of twisted stuff happened: World leaders met to discuss global warming, a former prime minister got assassinated, a bunch of president wannabees came and paraded around our state for a few months, and it snowed and rained a lot...a LOT!! But all in all, one can't complain too much, especially we in Ephraim Zenh.
We got our act back together a little over one year ago and decided to give this band thing a GO--after all, we really aren't good at anything else, seriously. In one year we produced, recorded and released our first LP (by ourselves); we successfully relocated our whole band to Iowa City; and we made some great friends and played with some fantastic bands along the way. We couldn't have done it without our friends and without the robust music among which we live. Our familiar fans--and fans of music in general who become fans through random listens--have supported us thus far and we could not have done it without you. But we have much bigger goals for 2008.
Life rolls along at a steady pace and leaves little time for deep introspection and reflection along the way. Most of this is retrospective. The present time should be for action--that is, if one wants anything positive to happen. Ephraim Zenh love playing live shows everywhere and to whoever we can, and it is for this reason that we are making plans for touring this summer, for playing shows out of state and region, for getting our names out to the big, wide, scary world. It will take a lot of hard work and time, and probably a lot of whoring ourselves out in whatever way we must, but it will be worth it because of the ultimate goal of reaching people with music...and like I said, we don't know how to do anything else...
So still look for us around your neighborhood, but when you see us you might notice that we have a special far-off gleam in our eyes, a wanderlust for bigger and brighter things. They may come slowly, but they will be hard-fought and worth the ardor. So thanks again for all of your love and support in 2007 and listen for bigger, better and brighter things from Ephraim Zenh in 2008.
Peace and sandals,
~Kevin
