After a year or so of playing in a cover band together Jordan Zevon, Jordan Summers and Morty Coyle formed the band The iMPOSTERS so they could finally concentrate on writing and performing their own songs. They were 16 then and they still they can't seem to stay away from each other.
Now, years later, one of those songs, "Home" a touching love song to his late father, Warren Zevon, won best song in the Pop category and Grand Prize over all in the prestigious U.S.A. Songwriting Competition..
The song is off Jordan Zevon's critically praised debut album, "Insides Out" (New West Records). Summers, co-wrote, co-produced and played keyboards on the record and Coyle appears on backing vocals and also shares writing duties on a few songs.
Originally intended as a bonus track for Reconsider Me: The Love Songs of Warren Zevon, "Home" was written and recorded in a week with Summers and Coyle's current band, All Day Sucker, backing Zevon on vocals. They loved it and decided to put it on Jordan Zevon's new album instead.
Summers and Coyle's current band, All Day Sucker's new record, The Big Pretend (Trademark Ent/Baverly Martel Records) has Zevon all over it. He co-produced the album and sings all the backing vocals. "The Jordans" also took first prize in the Pop category in The U.S.A. Songwriting Competition for another song of Insides Out, "The Joke's On Me", which they performed on Late Night with David Letterman.
