Jordan Zevon

http://www.songwriting.net/winners.html

After a year or so of playing in a cover band together Jordan Zevon, Jordan Summers and Morty Coyle formed the band The iMPOSTERS so they could finally concentrate on writing and performing their own songs. They were 16 then and they still they can't seem to stay away from each other.

Now, years later, one of those songs, "Home" a touching love song to his late father, Warren Zevon, won best song in the Pop category and Grand Prize over all in the prestigious U.S.A. Songwriting Competition..

The song is off Jordan Zevon's critically praised debut album, "Insides Out" (New West Records). Summers, co-wrote, co-produced and played keyboards on the record and Coyle appears on backing vocals and also shares writing duties on a few songs.

Originally intended as a bonus track for Reconsider Me: The Love Songs of Warren Zevon, "Home" was written and recorded in a week with Summers and Coyle's current band, All Day Sucker, backing Zevon on vocals. They loved it and decided to put it on Jordan Zevon's new album instead.

Summers and Coyle's current band, All Day Sucker's new record, The Big Pretend (Trademark Ent/Baverly Martel Records) has Zevon all over it. He co-produced the album and sings all the backing vocals. "The Jordans" also took first prize in the Pop category in The U.S.A. Songwriting Competition for another song of Insides Out, "The Joke's On Me", which they performed on Late Night with David Letterman.

Congratulations Jordan, Jordan & Morty!

hello my sincere congratulations also.... i have sent out a belated freind request please don't look at this a ass kissing that is not my style lol... but as a genuine compelent to your music and styule. i myself have been discribed by people whivh phd.s who are performers nationally and who i will not name as being quirky :-)~ itake this a high complements from people used to such things and when given unsolisisted i know i am as an artist maybe like waren devon , davie bowie, jimi hendrix and and other people i pale in the shadow of .. know i might be be marching to my own drummer who i call godd and he actually says fuck to embass well meaning christians who let real human beings and artis almost die from real bacterial infections because they were to bussy y to help peopel who were already alive while claiming the rights of peopes rights to life. please note i'm a methodist christian who's church does not always claim him but i think we both have read the actual bible studied it and pray for each other. if we ever get confused about who is who i'm the one who painted the actual painting feeding time at lake ella which i won the visual right to and donated to the sesond harvest art auction who auctioned it off to charity /// please not second harvest nest sent me a thank letter for the genous donation of htis and several other paintings and please note i'm the one who actually give small amounts of cash to homeless people at lake ellto spend on anything they wish although i am very very pverty stricken and poor. while the good christians feed perfectly good bread to the ducks and pretend the homeless do not exist. the pastor at st' pauls united methodist church knows who i am and my opinions i have taken my time to talk to him and how i am actually treated at the church i am a member of but am too poor to give money too. it is across the street from lake ella and is the church i was actually babtised at as an adult. i do not know what they say about me or privately think but thier actual actions towards me do not suggest frindlyness underasstanding or helpfulness. i presume one os is incorrect in our action s perceptions and actual deeds perhaps it is not me... although they have like manyu people in tallhasse taken the time to tell me to my face just what they think. and thier profession medical opinions at times athough they are not doctors and when i ask them question about the pdr, and priciples of juman phsiology and greys anoatomy books i have actually taken the time to read and understand somewhat they tell me i'm perhaps .. crazy wellcome 2 my world.. lol and congratu.lations somehow i think you migh approve of my long ranbling post b.
