We would like to take the time to correct a previous post. In our post, "The Collapse Accelerates", it was suggested that a World War triggering showdown between the US and Iran was now no longer an option as a stalemate in the proxy war between the two powers, inside Iraq, had precipitated a new 'Cold War' between the foes. Unfortunately this stalemate lasted only days when the US violated the cease fire with Moqtada Al-Sadr and continued to press home attacks against his forces leaving the situation thus:

So it seems sadly a larger showdown with Iran is still possible, economy permitting.
