Hey guys if you are interested in participating in a Swap-o-Rama in Oklahoma this year then be sure to go to the Tulsa Craft Mafia's myspace for more info as they are having one on March 21st.
It looks to be official that I will be cancelling the Swap-o-Rama-Rama for the OKC area this year and will be giving up being the organizer for it this year.If someone is interested in doing one in OKC this year and wants to take over as the OKC organizer then they need to let me know so that I can contact Wendy Tremayne and let her know I am handing over the reigns and I will forward you to our Sewing Machine sponsor. I am letting this go along with most of what we did for Reuse Oklahoma Arts Resource becuase the out of pocket expense became more than what a struggling artists could afford or have time for (and still keep a job). If someone has the time and energy to get it going and maybe the resources to create a nonprofit for it than they should go for it as I am no longer that person- sorry :(
While I may continue some projects that were to be a part of R.O.A.R. we are just not up to the Swap-O-Rama anymore but will make the suggestion to encourage folks to host their own smaller versions with friends and co workers cause you don't have to call it Swap-o-Rama for it to be a great swap and you can swap old clothes and art and craft supplies and then donate the left overs to your favorite charity. OR HEY go and check out the one in TULSA coming up soon! Those gals organizing it helped us very much last year and they are very creative and will put on a great show-so DO IT!
