Hi gang. It's almost here. The release of our 1st official CD with 11 new tracks. But back up a minute. What do we mean by the title It's all about the solos? Featured on Fridays has always put the solos 1st, but not at the expense of a good SONG. Remember when most music on the radio had a guitar, or drum or horn solo? Well were still keeping the guitar, bass, drum, etc. solo tradition alive with this CD release however, we didn't forget about the basic foundation of a song which is a melody ,harmony and rhythm. When FOF went in to the studio to record these tracks we wanted to capture the energy of a live group along with some guitar, drum, and bass pyrotechnics. But back to basics. Remember those real old rock or mowtown records? Remember how you'd listen and you could hear the bass and drums on your left speaker and the gtr on the right with all and vocals in the middle? It was a wonderful organic sound! Back then in that era, Pro Tools and digital recording did not exist and there was no going back and correcting a vocal that was flat. Nope. Your band had to be tight and capture that live energy to tape in a few takes Those were the days! A band had to record each song live to analog tape. If your recording budget allowed you could do a few overdubs but that was it. We wanted to capture some of that live energy that groups from those days did and we had a blast doing it. In mixing the CD we set out to to remain true to our live sound and bring it to you in this CD.
You will hear some new tunes and some familiar tunes with a few surprises as well. Our Cd is currently undergoing it's final mastering and will ready to download within a few weeks. For now enjoy a sample that we've put up on our main page. Enjoy and Happy Holidays!
