despite a number of attempts to miss our return flight, we just got home from our 24 trip to Puerto Rico. The PR tourist website describes the it as a "modern progressive and civilized vacation spot"- though I find it difficult to recall anything civilized about our trip. I do recall eating a lot of pork though. as soon as we exited the San Juan airport we had our driver take us to this rustic and authentic little shack called Bebo's Barbeque for a proper Puerto Rican meal. Bebo has situated his restaurant in the back of a McDonalds parking lot, and even installed a couple of slot machines so that you can gamble while you wait for your food. unfortunately, the line to order takes forever and Joey ended up gambling away his money before he even ordered. I think Derek's won...
next stop: El Conquistador where we sound checked and hit the Casino. this time I lost all of my money, and had to flirt with a cougar until she offered to buy me dinner- the last thing really recall was being on stage and playing "Rockaway Beach" by the Ramones. We play the song in the key of B, but I'm pretty sure I was playing it in E, and Matt was singing somewhere around A . But that's the way a cover of a punk song should be. sloppy. and that's what we were for the duration of our stay. When I finally came to, we were in the van on the way to the airport, and Derek was recalling how he drunk dialed the event coordinator and begged her to take a jacuzzi with him. yes ladies, he's single...
