Hey Famz,
We are looking for a talented, free spirited permanent guitar player to join my live band. An intimate audition will be held on Friday, October 16 at Orbit Room (580 College Street) starting at 2pm. MUST BE 19 years and older...
We are looking for technical ability, feel/pocket (especially in different styles - ska/reggae, Rock & R&B), ability to get necessary tones for each song, SHOWMANSHIP, IMAGE and good ears (ability to learn songs/parts accurately by ear). Also, playing another instrument (keys, horn, percussion, etc.) would be great too. NOT A MUST,JUST A BONUS : )
Please come prepared with the following songs:
1. Until I Stay by Jully Black - (can be on electric).
(form is a little tricky with a few 2/4 bars and there are a fair amount of chord changes) and overall musicality.
2. A rock song of your choice played solo, something relevant to the sound of Jully’s new record.
ie. Hendrix - Purple Haze
Aerosmith - Walk This Way
AC/DC - Back in Black
Isley Brothers - Fight the Power
Spiderwebs, No Doubt – Spiderwebs
3. An R&B-ish song from the list below -to demonstrate versatility and that you can learn non-guitar tunes but sell them on guitar.
