Earlier this month Annie Lennox was invited to speak at the Economist  Conferences Emerging Markets Summit in London. During this event  Annie presented the SING campaign and spoke about her involvement with HIV and AIDS issues. We are pleased to share with you some footage of this event which includes Annie's presentation and interview in full.

Click here to watch it now.

Since this event took place we are delighted to announce that the Economist Conferences announced SING was their chosen charity to sponsor for the year.
Annie is very excited about this partnership and hopes that it inspires others to get involved in the fight against HIV and Aids.
Economist Conferences, a division of the Economist Intelligence Unit, is the leading provider of international forums for senior executives seeking new insights into strategic issues. These meetings include industry conferences, management events and government roundtables held around the world. As part of The Economist Group, the publisher of The Economist newspaper, we are a highly respected brand with a 162-year history and an unrivalled reputation for excellence and independence.

The word "awesome" doesn't quite capture the impact, but.. it will have to suffice for now.  Beautifully spoken- and the people who work so diligently on the films need to be praised as well.  Nicely done!

Congratulations for a presentation that will no doubt help to turn the tide to a more Positive way of thinking and acting.  This electronic medium has provided some very thought-provoking information to me today on the gender gap in health care around the world.  I read an article on the Huffington Post today about women in the United States who are being denied health insurance, having had received preventative prescriptions of HIV medication after incidents of sexual assault, or for treatment of post-traumatic stress from the same - pre-existing conditions, so they say.  From the wealthiest of nations to the most economically challenged, so many rivers still to cross, and sadly, so many inexcusable biases against our sisters, our daughters, our mothers, our grannies.

Your continued dedication and patience to study and listen and learn and speak and sing more will only contribute to the momentum required to face all of the unnecessary obstacles to a healthier and more peaceful world.   In this context, the corporate world, on the balance sheet, I think there is an item that corresponds with the intangible currency of celebrity - "goodwill."  It is so heartening to see you using yours with such wisdom and passion.

I have posted this moving and so, so, tragic tale on my "blog" and hopefully some of my friends will follow and do the same. We must spread the word. As you said, we have amazing ways to share things with the internet, but still I did not realize things in South Africa were not getting any better. Yes, why is it that Nelson Mandela does not get the 'press' or heard around the world when he speaks out? I do not understand.  What else can I do? I am in Melbourne, Australia. I would like to help in some way. Could you give me an organization that has merit to offer my time to in Australia? We need to multiply your wonderful work by "people power." Thank you Annie. Sal.
