I just had to laugh out LOUD when I heard the choice for the "background" song choice!!! Very fun!  Anyway.  I quite enjoy HEARING your replies.. I mean reading your typed words is fascinating, but.. I just like your voice.  It is even more incredible that you actually make the time to be so engaged and involved with your "peeping followers"! Okayyy... and when, exactly, did you manage to "cram" this little project into your ever- frenetic and hectic time schedule??? No moss growing under your feet, for sure!

Interesting insights.  Thanks for fielding the questions and taking the time to answer them.

I so agree that the great thing about great voices is how unique and instantly recognizable they are.  It must be weird to sit back and objectively acknowledge that, for a great many people, yours is the female voice that most embodies that characteristic.

Hi Annie, it is just wonderful to see you in such a good space!  Really, one has to wonder what's happened to our Dark Diva... LOL  I'm probably noticing your happiness because I'm experiencing a lot of it lately too. To think that my brain just needed a few chemicals every day... Oh I know I'm blessed to have found a remedy that works for me.
You look and sound marvelous! I'm so pleased.
With much fondness (and happiness)

Annie, I think you're more beautiful than ever. I had wondered who designed that grand Freddy Mercury dress, so thank you for mentioning Mr. Price. I'll have to Google him. Do you celebrate All Hallow's Eve (Halloween) in your house? Do you encourage cobwebs and don some fangs for the wayward trick-or-treaters? You surely must!

Hi Annie, thank you for sharing your answers to questions. It's interesting to hear you talk about your humanitarian efforts. Congratulations on raising so many funds through the SING campaign over these last few years. So fun for me to hear you talk about your costumes and characters you created, what you like about blogging, and your favorite male vocalists. I appreciate your sense of humor, especially at the end of the interview. You are adorable.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Merilee

Thank you so much Annie for taking the time to answer our questions. And of course, to the pixies for the great help they give you in putting it all together.

I am so glad to hear that you enjoy blogging on here and looking at the replies to your blogs. Your blogs are always well worth reading whether they are personal blogs or relate to your interests and activities.

As for your favourite male vocalist, I was so pleased to hear you mention Terence Trent D'arby - I have his first album Introducing the Hardline According to Terence Trent D'arby and think his voice was amazing on it.

For anyone who doesn't know or remember him, here is one of his singles off the album:

Thanks again Annie, looking forward to the next part.

Thank you Annie for mentioning Terence Trent D'arby and Jill for posting the video. To be honest, I had completely forgotten about him. Now I’m thinking about all those musicians whom I loved, that are locked in time capsules of cassette tapes or vinyl, hidden away in my storage. I have boxes of them but just can’t bring myself to repurchase the music. I even bought a little gadget to copy them to an MP3 but have I ??? No.

I love these Q&A sessions. It is very generous and your honest reactions are always so refreshing. Plus I learn something new every time such as...2 Million Dollars. Fantastic!!

Oh Annie... it is really quite amazing of you to answer these questions!! I love you in interviews. Your answers are spontaneous, thought out and genuine. I agree with you on naming a best male vocalist - that is really difficult. I like so many too and they each have there place and style for what they are expressing. Same with the dress question. Oh my God - how challenging is that? I have to agree that, although there are so many the 'I love to Listen to - Beethoven'one is amazing. I always enjoyed how that specific album was like mini stories that folded into the next scene of one large story. Thank-you so much for posting this!! How fun is that!

Many Blessings,

Orin

Savage was one of my favorite eras.  I remember playing the acoustic "Chill" version on vinyl over and over and over and over- must be my favorite live track you did EVER.   You have done so many things, yes, it's hard to choose.  I really got into the "Revenge" era the most- I don't know what it was about it- maybe the simplicity of it- the leather coats- the "live" feel.  I don't know, but that's when I was a hardcore eurythmic-maniac.  To me, Revenge is your best LP/CD/Record ever... I would come home after school- always play that record- more than any- by the time "When Tomorrow Comes" came on- I was in such a trance.  The whole recording still is so fresh now.  I don't know why- but, besides (Sweet Dreams) - -(When Tomorrow Comes) is my all time favorite song- I always felt that one.  It hit me.  And hey- Tomorrow Came...  - runs chills up and down my spine when I hear you sing that in concert live.  Oh my god, I have to stop typing before I say something stupid !  :)

I love to watch the video because Annie is one of us!!!! I mean, she is so euphoric when she talks about David Bowie and the other great artists she meet and sing with.

It is funny because every time I meet Annie I feel the same she felt....

it's great to see that you've had a window in your very hectic life to take time out and  have answered some of the questions posed by your 'peeps' ... for me personally 'there must be an angel' remains  not only my very nearly favourite Eurythmic track of all time but one of my favourite 'single' videos.. it took the word 'camp' to new hights, and the whole 'Savage' period for me was  as is now when i look back my favourite Eurythmics album, the 'longform' video was truly groundbreaking and i don't remember anyone before  or since apart from yourself again with 'Diva' who created a video for each track, that as a whole created the story of the central character the bored housewife / turned 'lady of the night?... .. and her journey from dark to light in finding love ( or so it looked when i watched it)looking forward to hearing your responses to the other questions posed

I wish you would have answered my question !!! THAT sure would have made my day, huh?!

Yes - love seeing your beautiful face and your expressions as you think through your answers.  And of course your soft Scottish lilt.  I don't hear the Scottish accent much these days.  Dad has gone as have all his brothers, even both his nephews departed from this earth early.  At least I understand your accent, not like my Aunt from Glasgow.  "Clap him on the back..." WHAT???!!!  First heard this when I was about 10 and my cousin about 2 and we were 'visiting' a pony in the park behind my cousin's house.  Was an adult before I found out what she was saying.  And talk about speaking quickly.  As a kid I would say 'pardon' up to 4 times and still had no idea what Aunty Hannah had said.  The more excited she got the faster and broader she spoke.  Kinda miss it I have to say.  She left us in the 70s.  Throat cancer from too many fags.

Thank you darling Pixies for allowing us to share your lovely boss Dr Annie Lennox with her adoring fans.

You don't use Twitter!  Oh wait, is this because you have..... a life??!!

I signed up with them to follow what our Premier is doing - the Premier who doesn't know one end of a computer from the other has a Twitter site - what a hoot!  I very quickly lost interest.

It's so much fun to view your HOUSE OF ME broadcasts on YouTube....and so well done!!!

I guess everyone has their ideas on how they like to fill up pats of their days.  I've never enjoyed
talking on the phone about the weather and although I've never tried Twitter, I'm not really interested
in reading only random notes by people.  It seems equivalent to mindless, tabloid blurbs.  There's
always room for fun and trivia of course. However blogging seems different in that there are also
thoughts, opinions and creative juices in the mix. Something to chew on and nourish our brains.

I love the ease at which we can now obtain information...words, images and sound in an instant from around the world.  This evening while sitting in a chair and waiting for my turn for a haircut, I Googled men's styles on my phone and found just the right one to show the hairdresser. This morning my
friend in New Jersey sent this photo he took from his iPhone yesterday.  It's beauty caused my head to daydream more than usual.

Photobucket

p.s. I agree with Terence Trent D'Arby's soulful voice.....Wishing Well, kiss and tell. Personally love David Gray and Seal too. Can't wait to see the Full Steam video.  Also Seal's recent version of "I Can't Stand The Rain" is gorgeous.
