THAT EVENING SUN an amazing film that Patterson contributed original music for.

The film, THAT EVENING SUN has been winning film festivals the world over.

It was written and directed by Scott Teems, stars Hal Holbrook (Academy Award nominee for Into The Wild) and is co-produced and co-starring Ray McKinnon and Walton Goggins (The Accountant, Crystal, Randy and the Mob).

It has won about 8 festivals so far and is about to receive some wider release.
Patterson wrote and performed a brand new song called "Depression Era" especially for it. He also performs a version of Jimmie Rodgers Blue Yodel #3 (I Hate To See That Evening Sun Go Down) which inspired the title.

The film is based on a short story by William Gay.

Very exciting!  I wondered what McKinnon was up to.

Wow, William Gay. .  I will never forget the showing of the Accountant in Asheville and the accompanying solo Patterson show.  Hands down the best cultural experience I've had in Asheville along with the Thomas Wolfe Memorial tour.

I wish McKinnon would do Agee's A DEATH IN THE FAMILY.  Thanks for posting this is good news.
