With you with bells on. The guy is capable of such amazing journalism but he subscribes so much to his own hype that he still kicks out the journalistic equivalent of a snidey back-of-the-hand "must try harder" comment so often and as he approaches old age he seems to rely so much more on his visual impressions of a band than what's hitting his ears.
Plan B is such a fucking old-boys club anyway. It's all about what's shiny and new and never about what has any kind of genuine impact. The writing is so desperate to prove that it's inclusive of all race, gender and style that it becomes unreadable. The illustrations are tremendous though of course...
