Has anyone watched this movie yet?  It's awesome!  It's a fantasy story involving a star. The book was written by Neil Gaiman. As can be expected, the books are all out from the library, and I'm going to the bookstore to get my very own copy.

I won't give anything away in this post, but I'm positively awed by the story, by how every detail is connected/used for some greater/central purpose to tie up the story in a tight ball. There are no wasted details, is what I'm trying to say, I suppose.

And ok, yes, I admit, it's my dream to write such a story one day.

We watched this movie with our parents, who came to visit us. I must confess that I thought they wouldn't appreciate the movie, but it turns out that they love it, and even understood it better than me. We had such fun discussing it afterwards. I guess that's where I got my love-for-fantasy-stories genes.

The movie has a pasted on happy ending. If you look at the picture-book made of the movie in the bookstore, you will find a still from the book-ending that they did not use. I preferrred the book, but then that is because I have a low tolerance for tracle, even in Fairyland.

I was really impressed by the ferrets' acting though.

Hi helgaleena, I've been meaning to get the book, but hadn't had time to do so yet. Your comment made me want to head straight to the bookstore now to get a copy. LOL Anyway, awhile ago, my brother and I were discussing about books that were made into movies (we're about to watch Jumper, which I understand is also another book-made-to-movie) and we agreed that for most of those movies, the books are richer and far nicer. Well, except for LOTR, because I really love the movies. :)
