As i write this we are sitting in the office at Durham listening to the Sussex match hoping against the odds that Worcester can hold on for a draw and deny Sussex the Championship handing it to us.
After beating Kent down at Cantebury earlier today in our final game of the season we have gone top of the league, with Sussex the only team that looks likely to overtake us. It has been a long and successful season, but also a little strange. No team has asserted themselves as being a true champion, with each of the team teams winning and losing games that shouldn't have been. After losing by and innings to Sussex early on in the season, we then demolished them in a similar fashion here at the Riverside only last week.
As we listen to the cricket Worcester have just been bowled out and the follow on enforced, and so the Championship looks to be heading to the South coast again. We have had the most successful season in our history this year, and your support has been amazing, for now all we can do is hope that either Worcester or the weather can stop Sussex from getting the win, and the celebrations can begin.
Either way thank you very much for you support this season, we will be back in touch just after the 1st October which is the date for our end of season awards. See You Soon
