ALOHA BABY..........3 WHEELS ON MY WAGON IT WOULD SEEM.
Firstly, greetings all and summery peeps.
Have been back from Hawaii (paradise) for nearly 2 weeks now and am still not over it. Twas the most amazing, exciting, relaxing and purely wonderful time I have ever spent away from home, and Roger felt the same. We were invited there to play for the Hawaiian music festival society for their pre festival concerts and were treated like kings. Our bungalow was virtually on the beach with giant turtles slipping up the beach each night to rest, which was a sight to behold. (tasted yummy too!!!) (ONLY JOKING!!) We also had our own private outdoor shower (phwoar!!!!) (I must say that poor Roger needed a stretcher and a splint by the end of the week but he and "mr muscle" are doing fine ) (I am SOOO glad he never reads my blogs) The gigs were great and we met some fabulous people, so thanks to Val, Genette and Ashley (and Ashley's mum Connie) for making it so special. I must just mention one young fella called Kyle Madzuka 15 year old astonishing jazz pianist who opened for me at the main concert and was so brilliant that I got him up to play "fine and mellow" with me and Rog, whilst I stood at the front of the stage, arms aloft Liza minelli style, realising I had the wrongs shoes on for vertical singing, so ended up stumbling Johnny Vegas style through the final blues, but big up to Kyle and great luck for the future. (he's on myspace so check him out and be his friend maybe)
Also, I have just joined "twitter" which is a lazy version of myspace where you type in small soundbites and thoughts rather than blogging endlessly, so please join and twitter with me. I think it's pretty instyant as well so a bit like instant messaging. should be fun.
Something that wasnt fun on Saturday was the fact that, out of the blue, and I have no reason or excuse or clue why I did it, but I spectacularly fell off the wagon after nearly 11 months sober, to the tune of roughly 3/4 bottle of vodka. I had been having a fabulous time at Soho House club in London at the beautiful and talented Natalie Williams' birthday do, and was having a ball with lots of my dear friends, and the gremlin guided me to the bar and one double vodka led to another then another.... I have not touched a drop since and have absolutely no intention of doing so, as my body decided to punish me so badly (throwing up and the other end constantly since)which just vindicates the fact that sobriety is definitely my flavour. As well as physical punishment, I have beaten myself up adequately, and my nearest and dearest have been wonderful and supportive, so I hope that's the last of it, but, after all these months of sharing my pride at giving up, I felt I owed it to my regular blog readers and friends to be completely honest.
So, that's that then.
Am off in a couple of hours with Roger to take my eldest granddaughter madelyn to Drusillas zoo park near Brighton, where we are going to ride on Thomas the tank engine!!!!!! (I remember riding a Thomas once years ago, and he had a nice engine!!) (so sorry)
Well, I'd better go before the entire carry-on team come and carry me off (snarf snarf) Have been watching dvds of robin hood (recent bbc version) (birthday pressie from Abby and Alex) as I never caught it on tv, and it's really good fun (and some rather dashing villains for ms dirtyknockers to ogle at)
Lots of love to you all,
Lady Milque-flote x x x x x x x x x x
I have to go now
