In compiling “Lord, Is He Him?” it was my heart’s desire to not only share my words, but to share the perspectives of people from all walks of life. Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing excerpts as written by men and women who’ve graciously shared their testimonies, in hopes that you would be encouraged.

This weeks first story comes from my brother in The Faith, Dewaine. And although his story may not be fairytale perfect, we believe that it will serve as a beautiful lesson in what happens when we allow God to lead us in courtship. So, without further ado, here are his words. From his heart, to yours.

“Love At First Sight”

My journey of finding true love actually began before I met my wife. About 7 months prior to meeting my wife, I needed God to break some things in my life. I was a recent music education graduate not working in my field and I had big expectations for my life. A friend of mine told me to fast and pray, so I did a 7-day water fast. During my fast I talked to God about a lot of things, amongst them, I asked Him for someone that I could share the rest of my life with and grow old with. After I fasted, I put it all in God’s hands. About 7 months later, a musician friend and his wife introduced me to this woman.

WOW!

There she was, all that I had prayed for! Tall, like an Amazon, just the way I liked them, honey suckle golden brown complexion, long gorgeous legs, long hair and beautiful.

Now let me say that even though God had brought this woman to my life, it took me a little time to realize what I had. At the time I was a young musician on the road, and the last thing on my mind was settling down. But then one day, it clicked. For all you ladies who ever question how we guys know when we’ve met the “one” let me share with you, my light bulb moment…
