Electric Heroin - Demo 1 -The Misssion - These Streets - Rhetorical Love.
Despite the current line-up having only existed since December 2004, Electric heroin so named, they claim, because music is a drug have already had a fair old amount of success in the UK. With live airplay on a few major radio stations and a number of sell-out gigs, their following is almost as large as their confidence.
Clearly drawing on influences such as Oasis and the Doves, Electric Heroin have shades of both of these bands, with slight tinges of Coldplay. The latter is particularly exemplified on the melodic chorus of "These Streets". "Don't you know I need you/now more than ever" is sung in a very Chris Martin-esque fashion, and leaves the track as the most memorable on the EP.
Infectious and catchy, this reeks of great Brit-Rock beginnings.(4/5)
