Hello

Thanks to everyone who was at the Oran Mor early enough to see us on Saturday night. The people of Edinburgh have a similar opportunity this evening when we support the mighty Broken Records at the Queens Hall.

On Tuesday night, I went to see the wonderful Daniel Kitson. His stand up show started at midnight and swallowed most of the early hours. I'm going to see him again this Tuesday at the Traverse in Edinburgh. He too suffers from night terrors, although his sound even scarier than mine. Paralysis and strange witches on his chest? Give me a good old scream and a run around a Travelodge any day.

I digress. After the Queens Hall, we will be playing the equally magnificent Bush Hall in London on Monday 7th September. We're playing with The Kissaway Trail.

Just finished reading The Child In Time by Ian McEwan. That’s the first of his books I’ve read and certainly not the last. The whole Space and Time thing is managed perfectly, and given that much of our time spent in the back of a van is consumed by such thoughts, it really resonated.

Listening to the Dirty Projectors, the new Radiohead songs, ‘Crooked Rain’ Pavement and Yo La Tengo.

Also trying to work out whether to stay in Edinburgh or move back to Glasgow. Any advice appreciated.

Gary

Oh, the happiest man alive thing is this theory I've got about weddings and The Birdie Song.  May it never apply to any of you!

If you are asking yourself the question of whether to stay in Edinburgh or move back to Glasgow .. you may already have the answer!
Eagerly awaiting more Scottish dates.
Lord Cut-Glass "Lord Cut-Glass" is a fine album.
