Current mood:  bouncy
Hey hotties

I hope you are all rocking .... I'm off to Reading Friday then my best friend is over from the US for the weekend and we are having a Uni reunion lunch on Sunday - I'm thinking this weekend is going to be wicked!!!! (and oh yes ... it's a bank hols weekend, too :)).

I know a lot of you are always asking how you can help us and (and yes i know a lot of you do and I can't tell you how much we appreciate it :) ) ... You guys do fucking rock!!!

We have been getting some decent airplay with Love is Thunder, which is great ... building nicely!!!

Right I will also post all the below info as a blog, but the main thing is for those of you who are going to buy our album/single, it'd be fucking fantastic if you could pre-order it - that really would help us a lot (that way shops are much more likely to stock nice amounts of it etc.). Of course you can go out and buy it in the shops (single 4th Sept, album 18th Sept) but obviously if you are going to buy it, pre-ordering it would be awesome!!!!

I look forward to all your messages saying you have pre-ordered our music :P .... also if you could write us a little review on amazon.co.uk or itunes or wherever, that'd be ace.

Here it all is (it's like a novel :P ).

BIG HUGE MASSIVE HUGS.

Tash xxxxxxxxxx

PS your support is almost orgasmic ;).

ALBUM REVIEW
http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/music/

Apparently Weapons have been asked, in all seriousness, by music execs if they have been put together by some Simon Cowell-like mogul. This sixpiece, whose central characters JG and Georgia (like their sister, Jem) come from Penarth, might look like a style mag's wet dream, but thankfully it's not artifice.

This debut album, self-released since their departure from American Blood, is an incredibly solid piece of work, recalling a range of unfeasible elements but sounding like none of those genres' usual suspects. Weapons are glam-rock-rap-metal-punk-riff merchants melding musical styles into a molten whole.

A lot of Weapons' schtick is an overt sleaziness and lead track Love Is Thunder has Georgia singing about cracking one off, as backing vocals 'oo-ooh' and 'aa-aah' in the background. A big chorus hook it has, but miniscule compared to the gargantuan tune of The Last Place She Went To Was The Ocean.

It piledrives its sing-along chorus, oozing confidence and swagger; a potential single. Terrorist Youth, a previous single, is the first track on the LP with their signature frenetic vocal stylings. There's something of American punk oiks about this song, and the slightly clumsy political lyrics are redeemed by a hyperspeed blowout at the end.

Rapper Mau-Laudi gets his first run out on the loping verse of Each Man Kills What He Loves The Most. But stabbing shards of strings and high-pitched vocals soon rip it apart for a passage which recalls the grandiose rock of Muse.

Another previous single, Black Line Ninja is astonishingly redolent of the rock-rap of Senser's Age Of Panic, all pogo-friendly riffing and fast larynx work, then Jem joins them for the delicious The Thieves. More menacing and powerful than her own work, her vocals are soft-edged and light-as-air, providing the perfect complementary opposite to Mau-Laudi's dark vocals and the crypt-friendly melody.

More social-political commentary comes in the double-barrelled shotgun vocals of Panic as JG and Georgia combine to once more recall some of the early-Nineties UK rap-rock-indie cabal. Fifteen years down the line though, it sounds less a rehash and more a re-evaluation. Then Out Of Time closes this 33-minute blast with an epic, if slightly overblown, singalong.

What goes around comes around in music, and it was about time rap-rock came out of nu-metal's ghastly shadow and became once more indie-friendly. Weapons have managed to make a forgotten musical form appealing once more, as they unite it with their everything-but-the-kitchen-sink songwriting and huge choruses.

Hehe, like the man said, you KNOW we've all had this pre-ordered from the very beginning babe, how could it be otherwise? What kinda fans would we be if we DIDN'T pre-order it?

As for that "Review" there is one line in there i'll take to the grave with me "Love Is Thunder has Georgia singing about cracking one off" I swear to God, i couldn't stop laughing when i read that. And here's me thinking the BBC wouldn't allow language like that :D

The Black Cat has a downstairs bar with pool table where the performers can mix with the patrons; upstairs is an open room with two bars flanking the floor. The stage is (perhaps) three feet off the ground. When I saw a clitrock band there, the sweat from the crazy-ass bassist exhibited a sheen reminiscent of an autumnal fog. The steam rising from her breasts as she bent back under the limelight, corded hands and arms thrumming...

YES.

Play the Black Cat!
