This movie is like an onion.  You see one layer.  Then you watch a little longer and there's another and blah blah blah blah blah.
Shrek really ruines that onion analogy for everyone don't you think.  It's just so unusable now.  Not that one would want to use such twee explainations of course.
So anyway, I think this movie was really cute.  You'd think it was a normal story if I described it.  But sometimes simple is good.  The strength of it definitely was the clever dialogue.  It was fun just watching the main character (Juno - Ellen page) just talking in her overly clever teenager kind of way.  Time out online reviewed this saying it highlighted Holywoods anti abortion bias.  I took that to be an interesting comment as I definitly thought there was some other message going on, like an attempt at gaining some moral ground.  I took it to be highlighting the fruit of a society that promotes values so alien to reality.  To me, Juno is the victim of an era which promotes sex education which focuses upon how to do it as opposed to when to do it.  And we see her; this 16 year old deal with issues so many her age have to deal with, before they really should have to.  But her resoursefulness and levelheadedness is the crux of the movie.  I love classifying movies to others.  Unfortunately this will always be limited by the limited amount of movies that I have seen.  So this is Nepolian Dynamite meets Once meets a few others I have not seen yet.
God bless America.
