Medicare and Medecade health care programs
I believe we have a good health care program except for a few minor problems,
Example
In some states if we normally do not need health care then we do for a short time we are required to pay an incurrment . This money comes from our pocket and goes to D. S. H. S. then medecade will pay the rest.
The problem comes when the amount of the incurrment is what is left to live on for the month after paying bills.
In some states there is a spin down requirement this is the incurring of an amount of paid or un paid medical bills.
Medicare is a federal program.
Medecade is a combined State and Federal program.

What do you think?
Food for thought;
You can’t take it with you;
Have you ever seen a U-Haul trailer hooked behind a hearse at a funeral ?

Even as a working mom with 2 kids, when I had heathcare, my girls didn't.  I was still below the poverty level but made too much money for them to be covered by Medicaid.  My brother, a health care professional, says the system is broke.  He pays for his own insurance and that of his employees.  Because he has had cancer, the best he can afford for himself is $10,000 deductible.  He also had a preexisting condition.  He's made 2 trips to the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix at his own expense in the last 8 months--thousands of dollars out of pocket.  he has the money to pay up.  Most people don't.

While working at St. V's Hospital here in Billings, I had health care that didn't cover my brain disorder.  Not a real illness, you know!  I also saw patients who lost their insurance, as the president has said, when they had cancer.  You can't work, get 90 days coverage thru your employer, and then have to convert your insurance.  Once you do that, the insurance company raises your premiums so high that you can't pay them.

Other issues. Cost of meds.  My meds cost close to $500 per month.  I have Medicare Part D.  The only way it helps me is that the state of Montana pays both my Medicare premiums and pays up when I get into the Gap, which happens just 5 months into the year.

I could go on and on.  One doctor here, Neel Hammond, an oncologist, was so sick of his patients being dumped by the insurance companies that he went back to college and became an attorney as well to take on the insurance companies in court.

So sorry Richard.  From my viewpoint down here in poverty land, things are bad.  Ditto for my brother up in the high rent district.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg.  I could tell you story after story.  How many more would you like?  If we did what the one fear-commercial advocated, we'd be turning away folks with no insurance.  At least here in Billings, even with 2 hospitals, that doesn't happen.

Amyway, blessings   Sharie

....Thanks Sharie
    Yours is the kind of in put that helps. They say (who ever they are) that the ruling class is in the pockets of the rich, If so if we can convince the rich that we don’t pose a threat to their pile perhaps integrity will prevail. Its for dam sure our government spends money. And for 45 years it was and still is my tax contribution, every thing has tax.

Yes, the insurance copanies have, not just millions, but billions.  Another issue about money: those  with insurance are already paying for those who don't have it, via their huge premiums.  I was in depair yesterday about this, having just listened to still one more ad from the insurance cartel in conjunction with the 5:00 pm news.  So I prayed.  My Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills.  I got the showers of the Holy Spirit, a gracious reminder of who's really in charge.

Governments in every country seem to be the same, they forget all that was put in and make people in their later years suffer. Great write.
