As I slept, he appeared to me as a little girl and took me to his house which, though just the right size for him, was much too large for me. So we walked in the garden instead. There were flowers that slew me, flowers that resurrected me, flowers that made me sneeze. "What's this one?" I asked. "Why, that one is art and science," he said with a smile. "If you like it, take it. It's a perennial after all." I did like it, and I did take it, and later, when I thought he wasn't looking, I ate it.
