Current mood:imagining
So..

I am informed that the final full-color version of GURPS Vorkosigan has at last been printed, and the print run is, even as I type, in a shipping container somewhere on the high seas, slogging toward the warehouse Stateside.

Anyone else here ever read Donald Westlake's A Likely Story...?

Just sayin'.

Cool, I just might have to start playing again with this version as incentive. Does this mean you're ready to start writing in the Vorkorsigan Universe again?!!!! Please, please, please.....

Er... you did get the word on CryoBurn, right?  Finished in June, to be published November 2010?

Ta, L.  On break.

Why do you have to wait for the best things in life? Why can't they come effortlessly and instantly?

The GURPS Vorkosigan will be a fun read though I've never really thought of the setting in terms of a roleplaying game or even a board game system. It's always reminded me more of a sci-fi combination of Sayers and Wodehouse rather than military sci-fi (which usually lends itself to cardboard chits blowing each other up on a paper map), but I can see Vorkosigan as an RPG with spies, guns and investigations.

I was terribly disappointed when I first saw that you had turned from sci-fi to fantasy till I actually read the fantasy stories you were writing (and then I was just disappointed that there weren't more of them). Maybe there will be a Chalion RPG in the future.

Thanks for the stories so far (more please!)

We of the HERO Games forums have already been discussing this. I'm definitely going to order a copy from my FLGS ASAP, if only for the artwork, which looks to be amazing. (I wonder if there's a pic (or 2 or 3) of Team Koudelka?)

No, I see no one here has read A Likely Story.  Highly recommended, if you can find a copy.  It's about a book project for which everything that can possibly go wrong, does, right up to the end.  A comedy; or, if you are a writer, editor, or publisher, perhaps horror.

My real, final, full-color hardback copy of Gurps Vorkosigan arrived by FedEx just an hour ago, in fact.  (In advance of that shipping container, still en route.)  It looks good.

I've not done more than a few sample sessions of gaming, but I do think the book/world will support many happy hours of inventive RPGing.

Ta, L.
