The romantic getaway with the two eazyboys crammed into the boat was my favorite.  A close second was the BBQ grill cemented into the flower pot.  All of those crappy fixes remind me of my grandfather although many of his projects were high quality. For example, he made a shoe horn out of sheet metal that was sufficiently long so you would not have to crouch down to use it.  He also made a closet on wheels to expand his clothes-hanging space.  And he had a line over his bed that connected to the thermostat so that he could turn the heat on in the morning.  I could go on, but you get the idea.  Very thrifty.  Every once in a while I come up with a good fix-it project...it's in my blood.
