So I'm back in LA now, just in time for the leaves to start changing colors and the weather to dip down to a chilly 75 degrees. You have to love LA, you can always wear a t-shirt and shorts no matter what the season is.
Last week was crazy. We started off by doing the Today Show , then Letterman the same night! I got to meet Michael Phelps at The Today Show which was so cool. He was so nice and humble, I love that.
Letterman was pretty cool too, literaly, they keep the studio at 52 degrees, you can literaly see your breath when you sing. Doesn't help when you're already shaking from being nervouse to be shivering from the cold.
The next day we did a Vanity Fair event at Bloomingdales. AT the end of the show there was a surprise guest who came up on stage to meet us. It was Richie Havens! We all got to hang out after the show and talk about songwriting, and play for each other. Once again another amazingly humble and beautiful soul.
Then we got to do The View the next day. Honestly, that was the one I was most excited for. The song went great, and then I got to meet all of the ladies afterward. Terrence and I went into Whoopie Goldbergs room because she wanted to hear one of my songs and I got to play for her and Sherri Shepherd! They were so sweet and enthusiastic.
So I was in a great mood all day before our big show at Joe's Pub in New York City. The show was by far our best show yet. It was also the record release party for the album so all sorts of people showed up and we got to have some fun afterward.
That was my crazy week, and now I'm home, on a break for a little bit, getting ready to go into the studio and record some more songs for all of you guys. i'm going to be playing at Hotel Cafe soon too so stay tuned for updates!
