Its an update, thats what it is. We made it home safe and sound from our trip to SXSW, but not without all the normal tour technical difficulties. Thats what makes touring a real adventure, right? All in all a great time, but it brings up a great question. When will we stop playing shows at teen centers and gravel pits? It makes for some great stories thats for sure, but what is it going to take? Someday we’ll grow up and be a real band, but its going to take more than the 5 of us. We work our asses off day in and day out to get our positive message across to the world, but sometimes its hard to get people to bite our bait.

That’s where YOU come in.

It’s time to rally the troops! Whether you’re a causal listener, a full time hater, a super-fan or somewhere inbetween, its going to take ALL your voices to make our little musical community something epic. Come to a show, (DON’T JUST SAY YOU WILL!) tell a friend, tell your dog, tell your grandma-ma. (we generally do pretty well with the 55+ group) Lets change this shitty musical landscape into something worth caring about (post-fad).  Something honest. Something from the heart. No more cash crop, cookie cutter bullshit. The thing about the music industry that a lot of people dont realize (or think about, rather) is that without the people, there is no industry.  The public determines what happens and who succeeds and who fails. As soon as those who see past the mind-numbing bullshit, take action and stop promoting it, thats when the change will begin. It can happen. It has happened before. There were people in the early 90’s who were fed up with spandex and hair spray (fast forward....sub spandex and hairspray for girl jeans and lack of musical skill), then started a cultural movement promoting honest, artistic and original music.

We are just 5 humans who enjoy playing music together and think we have something very special to offer. We can’t say THANK YOU enough to those who have come to a show, talked with us, shared your stories and/or a beer, or simply enjoyed yourself.  Without you, we would be nowhere close to where we are right now.

YOU make this possible for us.

And in celebration of that, we’ve gone ahead and put up a new song, dedicated our loyal kaddisfly troops. It’s called "It Has to Be This Way," we’ll be playing it on our upcoming tour.  Hope you like it.

see you soon...

-kaddisfly

ps. we’re not this grumpy all the time....i swear!

I nowadays tend to skip or blowoff more bands that come into town because I have seen them or just not as interested in going...except when a band like Kaddisfly comes into town...I have to go, I tell everyone, and go whether it's with a group or by myself...your music just keeps it groovin from beginning to end, it's that type of music where you just "feel it". Thanks for doing what you do.

Ballin' guys, and the sooner you make it big the sooner yall come back to cleveland right? ha, well keep doing what it is that you do b/c it's amazing. What about warped? I didn't see K-Fly up on the list and i wont lie, i was a little disapointed. But hey, your call.
But yes i agree, the music industry is going to the shits and it's going to take new and innovative bands like K-fly so revive it. I've converted many to the K-Fly ranks and there are more to come. Stop by Cleveland some time, and if you want i'll give you the hook up at some venues here,

Peace guys,

Matt

K-Fly, ive always been a huge supporter for you guys since i saw you play on the take action tour a year or so ago....along with my friend Matt. You guys are so unique and extremely skilled in what you do and that shows in your music. Keep doing what your doing, cause your making great music and continue to be one of my favorite bands out there today. I always find you guys amazing to watch live. I agree that the music industry is goin down, not many people listen to whats not popular, just whats on the radio, I have told many of my friends that are like this that i have a problem with this, hah, but anyways, keep doing what your doing cause your making great music....and like who compels said above, come to Cleveland again! haha

I absolutely love Kfly, and I blast all 3 cd's in my car to all my friends lol.
It might take some getting used to for some people, I get a lot of feedback like " Whoa, they're positive". Like it's something totally unheardof.
I'll bring an extra friend if tickets dont sell out to the nyc show =)

I'd go to a show if there were any Fl--.............. ok, I'll stop bothering with the Fl dates already. =D

But I'm really excited to hear there's new material up. I hope the next album has those "making of" videos made just like Set Sail did. I still love watching those now to serve as motivation for my own band.

Well, best of luck on the next coming tour dates, and then with the writing process of all other new material. I look forward to hearing more about it.

Take care!

I completely understand where you are coming from in terms of the current state of the music industry. Sometimes it can get pretty disheartening.

I've been telling a lot of people about the May dates - and how I'm even skipping Bamboozle to see you! I'm planning on promoting the shows quite a bit as we get a bit closer to May. I want there to be really good crowds at those shows.

I'm looking forward to seeing you!

The fact that you do play so many teen centers is killing alot of your attendence, for sure. I'm too old to be hanging out in one of those places. Looks creepy...Granted I'm not that old, but still. I've been over this with Krystal a few times!

Well, i got to agree. The music industry is pretty fucked right now. One of the most popular songs on itunes right now is "lollipop" by (no talent. --->)Lil' Wayne.(<---no talent.)
Mainstream music has devolved to the point where they make a beat on a computer and then say some words repetitively to make money. I hate that. I try and tell people about good music but they don't listen to me because I wear skate clothes (?!?). Oh well. I'm glad you guys are trying to change that. Keep up the good music.
(I'd come to your concerts but your NEVER in Little Rock, Arkansas.)

Being in a band myself, I know where you're coming from. We're touring this fall, pouring everything we have into it. Patience is definitely key. Bands that are in it for the long hall, stay in it for the long hall..and for the right reasons. Based on the responses from this bulletin, your music is a testament to your souls, talent, and dedication to keeping great original music at the forefront of minds of those who are true music lovers. Those people are the ones who are going to help spread the message about the great bands...GRASSROOTS. Great music is quietly making its return. I will be attending your show on 4/26 in hampden, ct with as many people possible. I've been spinning your cd at work(at least 3 times a day) to thousands of people walking through and hearing it. People always ask me who you guys are and I immediately write the name down and tell them to go buy it! Stay Positive and know you're on your path. When you know your path, you will succeed.

I always keep an ear out for you; and an eye, if you ever come back to the tiny town of Springfield, MO.

But I don't blame you. The only bands that ever play here are the aforementioned girl-jean, cookie-cutter pop-punk variety.

Thanks for keeping the flame of great music lit. Keep on carrying the torch.

Oh, and the new song is really sweet. Can't wait to hear more!

DUDES, please know and be encouraged, you do have some serious fans out there, myself being one of them, and i am truly trying to always spread the word to friends and express how incredibly creative and thought-provoking your music is. Your music and lyrics have caused me to view music more seriously and think more deeply, as well as inspired my own songwriting and even my faith. Not joking, you guys are one of my absolute favorite bands, and I am doing my best to rally as many people as i can to the Albuquerque show (which, PS, I am by some miracle opening for you). Anyway, I feel for you in your frustrations, but seriously, you've got something real, and people eyes will slowly be opened.

Hey you guys said it best "There's a drought in the human mind..." Humanity is losing touch with itself, we're beginning to function less like thinking creatures. I mean people must feel it easier for corporate to tell them what's hot. You guys are either ahead of your time or too late. I want to be optimistic and say there's a glimmer of hope at the other end of the tunnel, but there's people who have no problem putting crap in their ears. You guys are artists amongst musicians, your music contains lyrical substance. We need an alternative rock outlet, something that plays every genre without discriminating, and not always playing the same jock rock. That time you guys came down my ears were witnessing some great stuff, never before had I seen such an electric act. You guys shouldn't sweat these things, you'll see, you're fan base is going to multiply! Every rapper will eventually kill the other for stealing the same Beethoven beats they originally ripped off, and jock rock will get its ass kicked.

Hey guys.

All of you have enough karma built up to last you for awhile. Just wait for your break.

I consider you the most under-appreciated band in the industry. Hands down.

I was in the process of booking you guys for a sold out 1300 seat auditorium.
But somehow, my booking decisions were thrown out when I was informed that another date had been set for a different band underneath my budget.

So.. sorry about that.

I'll be at your next Portland show.

Say hi, sometime.

You guys know I have been in this exact same boat. You feel that next step is right in front of you, that the cup is surely going to spill over and that tidal wave will flow in a positive direction and the definitive "next level" will suddenly be upon you. If we are talking truth here, that next step may never come, and that is a hard pill to swallow. It has absolutely nothing to do with how real or awesome you are, because you know how much I love and respect you dudes as artists and as people. The fact is that the odds are against artists now more than ever. The internet has become a blessing and a curse... I don't mean this in the typical way that people point the finger (illegal downloading). I'll give you an example... Take a website like youtube, where curious fans have access to tens if not HUNDREDS of videos of new bands that they might be curious about. I feel that the bombardment of media that the internet provides can sometimes numb someone to the idea that actually seeing a band in person could provide an emotional release that they aren't getting in front of their desktop. Now of course you guys know that I am not a subscriber of that mentality, but I could see how that could happen. This is a discussion that could go on forever, so I will try to spare you. What I am trying to say is that there is nothing wrong on your end. The band is awesome, the message is great, the show is a blast. Just do your best to enjoy the ride you are on while it lasts, because even if things were to rise to much desired "next level", it will eventually have to fall back down. I love all you guys like brothers, although we haven't played nearly enough shows together, I feel a connection with you all. Keep it going on ANY level no matter what happens, and never let the vision of achieving a goal get in the way of doing what you guys do best, which is writing positively charged, erection producing rock music. xoxo - Mike

p.s. Kile, call me honeysnookums.

word up on this!
i hope i provide an ounce of what you guys are looking for in your fans. In my mind the first time i listened to you guys i knew you guys were and are a REAL BAND and far from the cookie cutting disaster bands that are drawing in all the girl-jeans wearing youngsters. your fans may be young but one day someone's older brother is going to grab your CD from his little brother and listen to it the way it was meant to be listened to!
you guys carry a strong message and have a lot of love to offer as well as some incredible music! The ambient sounds in your records drive me crazy, the guitars drive ice sickles down my spine, the percussion leaves beats in my ears, and the vocals, wow, lets just say there may be a few wet spots in my undies after a Kaddisfly show.

MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT GUYS!!!

"Something honest. Something from the heart. No more cash crop, cookie cutter bullshit."

This is exactly what We've been saying since we decided to be a band. Be honest, Be creative, and B-real (not the guy from CH, but thats cool too). We really enjoyed playing with you guys in kennewick (might as well have been a gravel pit), and I'm glad that there is a group of insanely talented and passionate musicians/people, with label backing, that have the same outlook on what this "industry" has evolved into once again. It'll change. And we wanna help.
