As a child I always had a recurring dream. Some nights it would scare the crap out of me, other nights I would embrace the dream and have fun with it. The dream was always based around the same thing - I was on a pirate ship full of the most astounding pirates in the sea. We would spend our days terrorizing the waters like pirates do, but on one faithful day we met our match. Another ship of pirates trying to claim our waters appeared from what seemed like thin air. The first cannons were fired and a great battle began. Swash-buckling sword fights and musket shots ensued for hours. At the end of the great battle I saw my ship sinking in the vast blue ocean. We had been defeated. Our only hope for survival was our trusty hot dog life rafts. (Yes... hot dog life rafts). By the end of the dream I was always floating by myself on a giant hot dog. Some nights I would wake up in a sweat thinking I couldn't survive, but others I would think to myself, "I can make it somewhere on this giant hot dog". The nights that I wasn't scared I would always end up on a beautiful island and be in a calm state of relaxation.

I guess the moral of my dream was, as long as you work hard and believe in what you are doing you will always survive and anything is possible.

Did you or do you have any recurring dreams? Post about them here!

Much Love,

-Beau

The one dream that repeats itself, and it's the only one, is the dream that I'm sleeping in my room I grew up in and there's someone in my room, watching me sleep from across the room. Sometimes I'm terrified, sometimes I'm not, but every time I'm unable to move, or talk until I wake up. I've often woke up and threw something nearby but there's never anyone there.

I think it's a pretty common phenomenon, but it's the only recurring dream I have.

Wow. Interesting. I usually don't remember my dreams ... and when I do, they certainly aren't filled with half as much adventure as yours seem to be. Then again, it's probably an indication that you have a much deeper creative side, which makes sense.

Now I know what I will think of anytime I listen to "Mercury" ... Beau on a giant hot dog raft! ;) (So is that why there is an alarm clock at the end of the song - signifying the end of the dream?)

I do have recurring dreams, but I don't remember them.
But the moral of your dream speaks to me because I am in a situation where i need that kind of advice, and reading that made me believe that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. =]

So thank you very much for having that recurring dream. =]

I have frequent dreams in which my teeth crumble. I also have dreams about tornados, though not quite as frequently.

I think dreams are just our brain's way of defragging while we're asleep. You know, when it doesn't have any new data to process.

Crumbling or brittle teeth signifies a kind of karma towards the cursing or wishing ill upon someone. It doesn't even have to be spoken. Curse words or envy could have one to dream of their teeth breaking.

Tornadoes means alot of things. You would have to me more in-depth if you want a more in-depth interpretation.

what up boys!?!?

Thanks for the lil insight...

Every once and while I'll have these reoccurring dreams that involve my old elementary school. It's usually me there by myself wondering the halls at night. The first couple of dreams involved me getting freaked out and seeing ghosts. I was then never able to leave the school grounds. I would have to climb over fences or break locks or chains on the school doors. Then I came into the dreams all geared up with ghost tracking gear and I was with other people actually hunting down the ghosts. I haven't had this dream again, or at least remembered it in a few years but hopefully we scared the ghosts away or I got rid of my ghosts.

The symbolism in dreams is sooo strange but yet so inspiring in your waking life!

The pirates signify people of chaos. This can be in a good or bad conotation, depending on how of course you feel. Being a pirate, yourself, and working with a group of them could mean that you treasure teamwork and leadership. It could mean you work well with others, or it could mean you hate being lonely.

The opposing crew is exactly what you stated: your match. You feel that they're is another group be it figuritive or literal that can possibly obstruct your way to success. The cannons signifiy something that needs to be accomplished before the moment is no longer opportune. The cannons were shot at you? This means that you feel if you ran out of time, you could not accomplish what you wish to most superiorly. In a less dramatic sense it could also mean that you feel like you always have to have a deadline.; time and accomplishment are the overlying factors. Of course, I can pinpoint what exactly. I'm not a psychic. Lol.

And, actually, the hot dog is NOT that farfetched. The dream that you are floating is a symbol of acceptance. The hot dog represents masculinity and vigor. This is obviously your acceptance of victory, am I right? You said that SOME nights you would not succeed. But you were still on a hot dog raft? This could mean your acceptance of attempt, nevertheless.

The island is EXACTLY what you said: a state of relxation; A get away.
The water surrounding it would depict your attitude towards stress.

Just though I would throw in my two-cents. I've been studying dream interpretation since I was 13.

Dreams

Mine personally was a very vivid and realistic dream that i had when i must have been 16 or so, I was in an open field with 3 of my best friends, including my bro, my cousin, and my best friend. we had just walked to the middle of this field from a motel on the side of the road. The sky was a deep, somewhat translucent blue, but when i looked up i was 4 celestial bodies (planets, sun) in the sky. They were scattered about in no particular order, but as soon as we got to the middle of the field, i lay back on the grass to see the celestial bodies making, in perfect geometry, a diamond pattern in the sky sun on top, crescent moon to the right, and two more unfamiliar planets to the bottom and left. As soon as i realized what was happening i looked at my cousin, Josh, and he looked at me, then slowly looked at his watch and said "Right on Time". At that moment in the distant horizon i could vaguely see what looked to be like a rolling energy shock wave. I dont know how else to explain it, I guess u could say it looked like a giant wave, projecting outward from a singular point, but the point wasn't visible. The "shock wave" took up the whole sky as it rolled closer and closer to us, filling the sky with a faint red glow, and right as the "wave" was getting right over our heads i woke up....

when i woke up i was completely in aww of what i just had witnessed, the dream felt so real, and i still remember it vividly to this day, i even painted a picture depicting the situation, so i could always look at it to remember.

Hot dog rafts?

That's fantastic. A much better use for hot dogs than eating, no less.

I would say that I don't have any recurring dreams per se, but I've noticed recently that I have recurring themes to dreams. For some reason I've had this sense of frustration in almost every dream I can remember over the past few months. The scenario is always different, but it always involves me wanting or needing to go somewhere urgently but not being able to get there. Once I was at this school in the middle of Albuquerque (no idea) and I had to get to Nicole by like 2:00, but I couldn't find my way out of the parking lot. All I recall from that dream was watching the clock and seeing the numbers slowly go by... 2:00, 2:30, 4:00, 6:00, and I was getting so frustrated, banging on the dashboard, shouting, etc. Not even two nights ago I had a dream that me, Nicole, her sister and the baby were going to go to Disney but were waiting for something or someone to show up first. As time passed and it started to get dark I remember feeling anxious and knowing that by the time we got there it would be closed or we wouldn't have any time to do anything.

Maybe I'm impatient or something?

Who knows.

Miss you guys a lot.

:) nice....

When I was younger, I had a reoccurring dream that my family was over at my grandma's house and my sister and I would leave or sneak away and I'd drive my parent's car (before I could drive). My sister was always in the passenger's seat. Funny things is... recently, my sister and I were talking about dreams and she used to dream that too... even the direction we always went (up the street) was the same.

my favorite thing about dreaming is flying... when I'm awake I remember how it feels to take off... but i'm still working on it ;)

I remember having a certain dream that I always woke up from too early, then tried to go back to sleep to finish. Then, on nights I remembered I was in the dream, I would have fun with it, too. I only wish I could remember the content.

Reoccurring dreams are 10x10 windows into our minds, right?
I think so.

wen i was younger, i used to have this dream where i would go to a friend's house (and it was always someone who didnt exactly have an identity, but i remember him as always being someone i had just met). he lived on a farm and we would go into his corn field and at some point he would start going back to his house, (which was always visible from anywhere in this corn field). he would always start running faster and faster til i couldnt see him anymore. I could always see the house in this distance, but no matter how far i went i could never seem to get back to it, and then id eventually wake up. then wen the dream would come again, i would always be worried that he'd run too fast again, but i went with him anyway and sure enough i was always stuck in the field at some point

Since I was a little girl and to this day, I have this reoccurring dream that I'm running from something and I'm terrified...it's always on the same long road lined with giant oak trees on either side. I keep running and gaining speed and before I know it I'm not afraid anymore cause I'm well out of the way of any danger, but I'm still running. Eventually I'm running on my hands as well as my feet. Then I leap, really really high in the air for long distances like I'm flying...when I come down I usually jerk myself awake. I used to get so scared when I was little of this dream...but now it's my favorite dream in the world cause when I wake up, for a minute I still believe that I can fly....

Wow man crazy stuff. Seriously dude a giant hot dog raft? Well when your drowning even a giant hot dog will do. That sounds like a weird Kaddisfly and Limp Bizkit collaboration CD "Set the Sail Hot Dog Flavored Water". And yeah I guess dreams are what you interpret from them and it's always good to come out of it with a positive message. No matter how grim the situation or how awkward your boat is, you have to live for better days. My dreams are typically offbeat stuff from everyday, just screwy things that wouldn't happen ordinarily. Most of my recurring weird dreams normally take place in a familiar school setting and throughout the dream I find myself wearing less and less clothes. If not that then something to do with heights, where I find myself falling and right when I hit the ground I wake up. I've hit the ground several times, it's like taking in a big breath of air. Superstitious people tell me it's that I'm going to die, but they've been telling me that for several years. Another one being my fear of drowning where the world is being flooded and the highest rock I can find is quickly being submerged, and there's this beautiful mermaid along another rock singing and somehow I find comfort in all this chaos. Oddly enough when you combine the two it's even less frightening. I'll be in South Padre swinging from a rope on the bridge amongst this crazy confusion of old style boats. I Could see all these beautiful frigates and what not, and all I can think about is how fun it is to be swinging and what an amazing it is.

I have the great luck of having reoccurring dreams where I can fly! But its a totally controlled flight. I have to run really fast, prepare for a sort of triple jump, and leap into the air. I catch the breeze like a hawk and have to pump my arms to soar higher! It is amazing and I'm kinda bummed now because its been months since I've had that dream.

That's beautiful ^-^

When I was little I would (cliche as it is) dream that I could fly. Although, every time it happened I wondered if I could, then tried it out under various circumstances, and then took off from my yard. (Apparently the best way to fly is to stand in place, really think there is a chance you can do it, and flap your arms really hard, like while swimming when trying to get to the surface before you run out of air). Whenever I got distracted by my disbelief of being in the air I would start to fall and had to work really hard to get myself up again.

I had this dream so often, I remember being eight-years-old and attempting to take off from my living room carpet. I just had to see. I haven't gotten it to work yet. ;)

I used to have dreams usually once or twice a week for the longest tme about dinosaurs chasing me around the town and i would always have to find a good spot to hide from them. Sometimes they would drive cars and carry around guns and it would be like a james bond scene/ jurassic park mixture. Sometimes if it was a t-rex chasing me id be able to stand still and it wouldnt see me but those damn raptors... cant fuck with those guys they open doors.... id always wake up before they ate me and be so thankful that it was just a dream and i really dont have to worry about hidiing from them day to day fearing for my life.

Hmm... Reoccuring Dreams? Well, There's two actually... One is where I'm Back in High School but no one knows who I am, and if they do, they won't answer me when I ask them How I got there and why I'm there... Then I tend to get lost and start to panic and freak out, only to find doors locked and windows unpenitrable... It's really scary.. The other one is In the future, like, the NEAR future.. and I'm laying in the grass on a really nice summer day and Sometimes my boyfriends there, or my daughter, or friends, and then a huge Planet or comet or something comes flying out of the sky and obliterates the world... I feel like I'm burning and when I wake up I'm hotter than hell.. like a massive fever.. I used to have a dream about being shot when I was younger but that one ended right after high school...
Strange huh?
