PART 2 - more shite.
Covers bands - please DO NOT attempt to approach us if you are considering doing any of the following covers... & of course the ones listed in Part 1 of this mean spirited Bloggo......
LIVING AFTER FRIGGIN' MIDNIGHT
WHOLE LOTTA FRIGGIN' ROSIE (unless you're DC/79 - that's OK)
DOCTOR FRIGGIN' DOCTOR
HARD TO FRIGGIN' HANDLE
THE BOYS ARE BACK IN FRIGGIN' TOWN
BREAKING THE FRIGGIN' LAW
HEY BLOODY JOE
Do you know how many awesome songs there are out there that tons of people AREN'T sick to the back teeth of hearing?! I'll tell you...LOTS! FILLIONS!
I'm tempted to include Enter Sandman too but I'm not sure I'm quite sick of it yet. Anyone ever consider covering ALICE in CHAINS? SOUNDGARDEN? LED ZEP songs other than Rock & Roll - there's enough to go at for Gawd's sake!? Even NIRVANA doesn't get much of a look in, unbelievably! AC/DC also did Riff Raff, Dog eat dog, Shot down in flames, If you want blood, Down payment blues, Let me put my love into you, Rock n Roll damnation ... amongst stacks of other full-on stonkers - why does no one do them (apart from DC tribs)? I never, EVER, no not NEVER EVER want to hear Whole lotta Rosie again EVER!!!! Do you? Really? This rant's only the tip of the iceberg maties - wait til I get more than 5 minutes to myself! Ha! Ha! And thrice Ha!
Bye! Luv J. X

My two penny worth and I must admit these are not specifically aimed at bands Ive seen at the towler but bands in general;-

You Really Got Me
Hammer to fall / Crazy little thing called love
Tush
Walking By Myself (It doesn't fecking surprise me!)
Sweet Child Of Mine
Sweet Home Alabama (Its put in a good shift now its time to be put to bed)

And most of all that fookin annoying do you wanna thing by kaiser chiefs. Hated their version and despise it being reproduced badly by a bunch of puss faced adolescents.

Oops! brought up 4 litres of bile there just mentioning the kaiser chiefs need a lie down.

Dear John

Atmosphere by Joy Division.

JD's bouncy cover of Russ Abbott's perennial party favourite should not be attempted by the likes of badger, Riff-Raff and Insectacutor. They will ruin the ambience of the song.
Me? I like a party with a happy atmosphere.....

The Irony is, of course, that originally we had "Nutshell" down in our setlist. >_< Had Adam's amp have not spectacularly failed upon us, we might well have done it. Bollocks.

Eeeeh  Lad, you are a one!! Perhaps you should forward this (and the other one) to film makers so we don't hear Ace of Spades over a gunfight/car chase ever again!. Thankyou.

Sweet Home AlaFRIGGINbama, in it's day a classic. But with Kid Cock ruining it and a million ham fisted bands murdering it - please no more. After hearing some of the sausage fingered attempts over the years, maybe the plane crash was the easy way out for the Skynyrd boys!

BAD REPUTATION

The problem is HTK is a shining example of what venues should be like. We've tried to keep to the better tunes. I fuckin love DC and AIC and we've had the top tunes in the set but they don't always go down well. In answer to your question 'Why do bands play the same songs?' it's cos when you play Would? or Them Bones or even If You Want Blood only a handful know them. In normal venues this does not ensure the best reception, however when you play the first riff in Rosie the cheers go up. It is boring I know and we're a good band( not sure I agree with your opinion on the DC79 version) itching to play stonking tunes. In short I totally agree with you and love your stance but your normal rock punter in your normal rock venue is probably not as discerning as your good self. It ends up being a balance between entertainment and regular gigging or classy material and obscurity. It seems like we're both in search of some rock utopia. Cheers Andy Bad Reputation.
