Current mood:  satisfied
I've been meaning to write up a few stories from the road for a long time now..so, here is my first one (watching Almost Famous yet again inspired me to finally write).

We had a private jet in Europe. It made traveling soooo much easier; I didn't have to worry about checking in 25 bags and making sure all were collected at the other end of our trip...I also didn't have to worry about everyone making the flight. The jet left when we were ready.
Following 2 days off in London, we were flying to Hultsfred, Sweden for the Hultsfred Festival. It was pretty far north and sunny all day during the summer. Our flight in was great, the scenery was amazing...nothing but trees and lakes. One person in the group mentioned that all they needed down there was a Wal Mart and then waterfront homes would be popping up all over the place. It was good to know that people who are involved in corporate deals so much can still make corporate jokes. As we started to descend, our little jet swayed a bit in the wind. Then, I had my first private jet near death experience (and, luckily, my only). We were almost on the runway when I look out my window and suddenly see the runway coming at my window! I clutch onto the guy next to me, who just laughs at me, and look away from the window. A gust of wind had turned our little jet, but the pilot managed to correct it and get us down with just enough space on the runway.
The festival, less than 1 mile from the runway, had sent vans over to pick us up. As we pulled into the festival grounds everyone in the band and entourage noticed how correct the stereotypes of the Swedish are! Tall, fair skinned, blonde hair, blue eyes...beautiful! All of them! The bright summer sun just glared off of the blonde hair all over.
When we got to the dressing room area, we only had one room...so the band got it as their dressing room and we set up camp outside. Since it was so nice, they all came out of the dressing room to join us. Behind the privacy fence that surrounded us, the wind didn't bother us, but soon it got so strong, it could be felt everywhere. One of the guys, enjoying a dark Swedish beer, couldn't find a glove to warm his beer hand, so we cut up a sock! Sounds stupid, but at the time, we had tons of fun with it! Seeing us all shake in the cold wind, some of the festival organizers dumped a ton of festival shirts and coats on us.
The show went on just fine, we boarded out jet, and took off to Helsinki.
