NXP Music Services promote (1) Artful Festival, (2) Driven, High Quality / Potential Self-Marketing Bands and Individuals, (3) Music Tourist Board of Rocklands, (4) Planet Water, (5) Playing Class Friends network, (6) Rocklands Party since born in a bar a few months ago. (1) Artful Festival is the annual autumn celebration of the Planet Water vibe. It's limits depend on the individual imagination of the participants. This non conventional convention of entertainment and exhibition takes place on land (Rocklands and beyond), and on line in ciderspace, between 1st-31st October. (No.3 in Year 007).

It was partly inspired by the Pop Of The Tops club's Alternative Idol / South East X-hibition of Oct 003 (later became the films "Live In New Cross" by Digital Sneakers and the Rocklands Rounded UK Tour of 004 (two new-born bands and photographer Peter Hill (Kaiser Chiefs etc nowadays) - in one van with all their equipment, very little money, and lots of friends around the country - made for a great adventure)... 100s of people in and with bands created Anti-Scene. It was mostly born from a moment of madness...

Those early days are all in the past now, only after all the various name changes, line up/musical direction changes, band splits and newly formed outfits that are part of the unsigned band life (a lot between the same family tree!) is a story beginning.

(2) Bands that you really should see and hear . Since starting in Year 003, quite a few fave, entertaining, ambitious and very special bands/individuals (i.e. Alternative Idols) have been connected with industry contacts, brought to media attention etc by Music Tourist Board activity. It's not so much about having critical acclaim, huge followings, the right associations / geography / haircut / derivative sounds etc and much more about having SOUL.

(3) Music Tourist Board promotes London's South East Bank (Rocklands, opposite Docklands - the lower east side isn't perfect, but there's much beauty and birdsong if you look and listen.) and the Rock n Roll Isles ( LaLaLand) (a.k.a. BritainIreland) in general. Connecting and growing at live music and arts events since Pop Of The Tops ("CBGBs of SE14" - NME) in to the current P.O.L.E. club shows. It's aim is to wage music, arts and peace by any fun and lovely means necessary.

The family of playing class friends (from everywhere) have organically developed into a unique creative artist development service network which is the ongoing situationist tale, Once Upon Another Time.

(4) Planet Water : a parallel dimension to the world on the news, but governed more by Nature and the future than Money and the past. The compass faces south). Year 2000 on Planet Earth was Year 000. This is the surreal wavelength of the world's only Music Tourist Board. Part escapism, part desire for social change. Life imitating Art to create new reality through good karma. Like London's first alternative, bohemian, budget holiday destination; Costa del Thames. Would anybody like to add anything to the Impressions & Legends of Rocklands at Music Tourist Notice Board?

(5) Playing Class : The multi-tasking collective that make Music Tourist Board exist. People exchange ideas, talents, contacts and create the next chapters of the story. Playing is ancient, natural human behaviour. People that play a lot, are in a (positive) class of their own. Skint, but with audacious and ambitious plans - that seem to work usually! - up their collective sleeves... Tongue in cheek friendliness that practices random kindness and senseless acts of beauty. The positivity of creativity via unity of the community.

(6) Rocklands Party was the first NXP event and brought the Glastonbury vibe all day and all night to the venues and streets of New Cross and Deptford over the May Bank Holiday a few months ago. It was a complete sell-out, and has added a definitely exciting twist - thanks to the magic of music, art, spirit and soul. See ROCKLANDS PARTY blog for fuller info. New friends were made, new ideas were exchanged.
