So...the VMAs were last night.....and........I watched them...as did a lot of people, I am betting on. Well...what did you think??

First off: One MAJOR disappointment....No performance by Ms Spears. They hyped it up WAY too much...and then when she finally did her thing..it was very anti-climactic. In fact, she had basically one job after the little pre-taped skit with whats-his-name from Superbad and Forgetting Sarah Marshall (Both stellar movies, btw). Her one job was to deliver a paragraph. "Blah blah blah...welcome to this special birthday event. The VMAs 25th Annivserity".......(oh yes...she said anniversity ... not anniversary....but who can blame her..I would've been nervous too). AT ANY RATE...it was very...uh...I dunno..."that's it?"

Other than that, the VMAs were pretty good this year...no Mayhem. MTV kept promising Music. Mayhem. And Music. But instead, they just gave us Music. LOTS of it...Rihanna kicked off the show with a creepy Distrubia mix (That sampled "Sweet Dreams" by Annie Lennox, and "7 Nation Army" by the White Stripes)...she did a great job...Christina Aguilera debuted a NEW song.."Keeps Gettin' Better"...a really good, fun catchy song...she looked vere "Lady GaGa-ish". Katy Perry gave a kick-ass version of "Like A Virgin", but they cut to commercial before she could finish....oh well.. Lil Wayne did something...I think it was supposed to be rapping...I couldn't tell.....oh...and he debuted the new way to wear pants...around your knees. He later performed with my drunk uncle. Oh wait..that wasn't my drunk uncle. It was Kid Rock. My bad.

Leona Lewis, TI, and Pink all gave kick ass performances. Miley Cyrus gave some bad acting, while sining a Bon Jovi song (badly) on Rock Band. And the Jonas Bros gave a nice little performance....after getting made fun of A LOT by Russell Brand....lmao...love that guy. Jordin Sparks does not. She made a comment about how she was SO SORRY her and the JBs WEREN'T SLUTS. (offended much?) Guess R Brand made too many jokes about purity rings....

Oh, and Kanye West closed the show. Wonder how much he had to bitch and moan to get to do that.

All in all, the VMAs were good. Britney won 3 awards, her first 3 too! Katy Perry did NOT win best new artist..but that's ok, because neither did Miley. Tokio Hotel did...who the FUCK are they?

VMA 2008 = eh....not as memorable as 2007...BUT...for good reasons.
