Dear friends,

It was with great disappointment we had to announce the cancellation of the West Coast leg of the current “In the Present” tour due to a medical emergency regarding bassist Chris Squire.  Chris required immediate surgery that could not be postponed thus interrupting the tour shortly after it began on February 5th in Mexico City.  This came as a complete shock to everyone, not the least being myself, but his operation was a success and after a period of rest, recuperation, and with his doctor’s approval, Chris is planning to return to the line-up fully recovered and stronger than ever.

I spoke with Chris recently and he’s doing well physically and in very good spirits.  The entire band is looking forward to getting back on the road as soon as possible.

We thank you for your understanding, for keeping  Chris and his family in your prayers,  and look forward to the day we can again play YES music for you live on stage again.

Sincerely,

Alan White

Although I am disappointed that the Seattle show was cancelled, I certainly do understand, and my thoughts are with you all, and particularly with Chris. I look forward to an opportunity to see you next time around. Take care.

Damn.

I was looking forward to seeing you guys again in Spokane.
But, I'm glad Chris is doing well, I mean, the guy that made you want to become a bassist in the first place - you gotta be glad he's doing well, right?

Enjoy the tour when Chris gets back on his feet.

While I was so looking forward to the show, I'm just glad that Chris is guarding his health.
I'm thankful that you and Steve are keeping in good health!

I was hoping to play a few rounds of roulette with you at the Sierra Grand Resort in Reno. I'm sure we'll have the opportunity again in the future.

Be well,
Sheila Schiffman

Alan:

Thanks for keeping us updated. When I first heard it was a "medical emergency" I thought of Chris' new baby... I'm glad it was not her! Sounds like Chris is going to be OK, and that's the important thing.

Send him our love and blessings.
