Who Gives Kudos:

Saturday, July 21, 2007

Hi everyone. I am so behind on my updates. Thanks for the birthday wishes. I am pretty new to Myspace and did not expect so many wonderful messages. Thank you very, very much! Also thanks for all the fantastic supportive notes. After elimination is was a funky few days for me. You know we shot the show in January. We are all under contract not to say ANYTHING! That is so hard, especially after getting voted off the kitchen island! So I put it in the back of my mind and told myself not to think about it. Yeah right!

Once the show started it was so exciting and I rode the roller coaster ride of NFNS each week with you. After my elimination episode aired I felt a sense of relief. The cat was out of the bag and I could breathe a sigh of relief and disappointment.

What I really loved was the "after elimination" video on foodnetwork.com.  It gave you a glimpse of what my relationship with JAG was like. We really connected. He is a great guy! We still talk about 3-4 times a week. JAG is kind, creative, funny, a great chef and a tough guy with a heart of gold!   It was really sad to say goodbye to Rory Amy and JAG.

Winning is always great, but if you do not win on a reality show, I think the second best thing is to do a great job, make a strong and positive impression and turn it into something.  Think American Idol....Top 4 can bring lots of opportunity!

Last Sunday's episode was amazing. The media tour that Rory, Amy and JAG did looked like a lot of fun especially with Rachel Ray. What an opportunity for the top three to shine! It was a little weird to watch the show without being on it. But I was very proud to watch and to be a part of such an amazing show. I was shocked when JAG stepped down! But under the circumstances it was the right thing to do. So now Amy & Rory stand as the final two. Who will win Rory's Backyard Bistro or Amy's Gourmet Next Door? You've decided. Tune in Sunday June 22 to find out who is your Next Food Network Star!

JAG

I'd love to see an odd couple show with you and JAG, Paul (*Are your ears open Food Network/Viacom, etc?*). We've seen some live shows where the 1 chef has fun with the audience, and there were a few shows with co-hosts - but not one where they looked like they were having as much F-U-N as you and JAG did =))

(I'm so glad that FN posted all of the 'extra' videos on the website - it's really wonderful to see how two very different people formed such a close friendship while on the show.)

I'm happy that Amy (OK, it's a spoiler, but who is reading this that hasn't seen yet?! ;) ) won - and I know that everyone else who was on the show is probably lousy with wonderful opportunities now =) It was neat that they brought you all back for the final episode, except that I felt really bad since a few people there looked so triste about not being in the final 2.

One question for you Paul - is there a podcast of your radio stuff that you've been doing on Monday mornings? I'd love to hear the questions/answers but I'm nowhere near you!

Z.

I think you are amazing and very gifted in what you do. I am glad AMY won, she is very talented. I think however, had the judges let you continue, you would have won. I voted for Amy she is a very special person in her own right. I just want you to know that here in Roanoke, VA many people that I know love and adore you. I think Jag is a good person at heart. He just got at little excited. He will go far in his own right. I think he should have a show as well, I think what would be neat is if the two of you did a show together. I am not sure what you would call it but, the two of you worked well as a team. God Bless you and always know that you can do anything.

Paul,

Congratulations on doing a great job on the show... I came late to the season... watching the episode where you were eliminated. :(

The top 4 were top quality, so you can certainly be proud. And you've certainly got personality to spare!

Best Wishes Always..

OMG, what a super idea...both of my favorites on the same show. You should really try to persue that idea. So many people would be on board to watch it. I love you both. Your personalities are awesome. Best of luck to you both.
