So, my personal life is definitely not getting more settled, but I couldn't stay away from all of the wonderful glory of comics and such. So, here we goes....
If you haven't seen Iron Man, don't tell me cause you'll get punched in some type of junk.
Words and/or phrases I hate:
"Break the Internet in Half" No. No you won't JoeyQ, Bendis, Millar, or whatever uber-hip writer there is this week.
"It will never be the same again" Just fuck this phrase. I have huge problems with this. Things always change. Especially in comics. That is, until someone comes back from the dead and it's all back to normal. yay....
"Green" Environmentally friendly should not be a trendy thing going on. It should be a lifestyle and not glamorized and cheapened by the media. When it is glamorized, people get tired of it and forget about it. Generally because we're stupid and short-sighted. Call me callous but unfortunately it's true.
Comic Stuff!!!!
I love me some Dirk Manning (plutonically of course....no really, he's dreamy but I don't go that way....ahem, moving on....) so go to www.nightmareworld.com or www.myspace.com/nightmareworldcomic to see what he's got planned. If you didn't see my shameless plug on an earlier blog I'll find you and break you, Chuck Norris style.
A lot of people bash 90's comics. And for the most part they're right. With the 8 covers per issue with shoddy, formulaic storytelling you got a cheap and worthless project. Yet, there were a few gems in there. One I just rediscovered is X-O Manowar. I bought the "Birth" hardcover on Free Comic Book Day and it was fantastic. It was Conan meets Iron Man meets Invasion of the Body Snatchers. I was all giggly..... This new version has new coloring, a new cover, and a ton of fun.
That's all I got for now. If you're in town, hit me up for a brew. Otherwise, I still love you and I'll tip my glass to you...if you give me some kudos
.
Best wishes to all,
Adam
