The last two nights have been absolutely wonderful for the ABA! There have been big opening games and big crowds too! I'm sure the ABA Staff are very pleased with the excitement and following he ABA is recieving by the students at Avondale and indeed the interest the ABA is producing in the local community too!
Over the past two nights I have witnessed some amazing games and I participated in another one. The ABA has started the season with a real bang and with your support the hype for this great competiton will continue throughout the season!
For this Blog I thought I would do something a littel bit different. Last Season I endevoured to provide you with information about the performance of my team (HAWKS) and especially my performance but this season I want to broaden my horizons and experiment with different things. But dont fear! I am not goign to stop producing the Blogs you know and Love, I will merely be alternating a few different styles. But as always the best way to hear about my performance is to watch my games LIVE and exclusive courtside!
What I'd like to do this week is highlight some of the players from the ABA and how they contributed to their teams efforts in the opening round for the season. So enjoy this little section and stay tuned for more blogs and ABA updates!
Hannah Orman - C Grade - Rivers
Although the RIVERS went down by a large margin in their opening game against the STORM I was impressed by the efforts of Hannah. The RIVERS looked untidy at best in their opening game but Hannah was able to shine during the game and was always involved. During the first half Hannah scored the RIVERS only 4 points and was their most valuable player in both offense and defense. I'm sure she is dissapointed with her teams performance on the night but she should walk away with a strong confidence in her own abilities as she consistantly showed her worth and tried to lift her team.
Ryan Vidot - C Grade - Wolves
Ryan's first excursion into the wonderful ABA competition tonight was marked with an excellent debut game for the WOLVES. The WOLVES are a new team to the ABA and have a strong mix of Theology students and other students attending Avondale College this semester. Ryan played enthusiastically both in offense and defense and was rewarded for his efforts by making importnat back to back baskets for his team. As both Ryan and the WOLVES progress through the season I can only see good things for the team with arguably the largest fan base in the entire ABA.
Well that is all I have for you all this edition but There will defiantle be more content coming your way!
