After commissioning web film shorts under the
BMW Films (starring Clive Owen) years before
YouTube, here's BMW's latest marketing mash-up:
BMW Audio Books!
.jpg)
There are only a handful available (as of now,4) featuring spoken word stories commisioned just for this project. As expected -these are yarns featuring a lead and a car. Something new for your ipod/mp3 player/sansa. : ) If you're new to portable audio, just make sure you've got a good net connection as the files are really this big - even for audio. Authors featured are Don Winslow, James Flint, Simon Kernick and Karin Slaughter. Okay, I have nooo idea who they are. My reading list isn't really diverse anyway (SF, popsci, religious, catholic, thrillers, a few classics) so there's really no harm in trying. The stories? You can expect they're like James Stanley Gardner or a mini-James Bond. The BMW films were a bit like that. This should not be any different. My download's still pending because of my I-like-to-disconnect-every-5-minutes Globelines connection. Oh well - with Opera downloading ITConversations and the Crankygeeks podcast, Itunes taking care of my other podcasts and uTorrent getting my Doctor Who's -- I wonder when will this download finish?
