Projekt Revolution was yesterday it was a pretty good with some pretty good bands. The day started with Madina Lake who even though i didnt really enjoy their music they had some catchy hooks to some of their songs. After that was Styles of Beyond they did ok they were rap so if you like rap they were pretty good. Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park came out and did a song with them. After them was The Bled. I really enjoyed them they came out with alot of intensity and put on a really good show for the crowd. Next up was Saosin. This was practically a home town show for the D.C. natives who got a huge ovation. They put on a really amazing show and had the crowd talking the rest of the night. The last band on the revolution stage was Mindless Self Indulgence. If you have never seen MSI perform in person i would highly suggest you see them. Everyone in the band was so intense and having so much fun it was great. After the revolution stage everyone moved up to the pavillion for the main stage. First up was Julien - K. Now if you know nothing about Julien - K 2 of the band members are from the former group called Orgy. I couldnt really get into a couple of the songs they did, but they did 1 or 2 that was pretty catchy. After Julien - K came Placebo. I was really excited to see Placebo for the first time and they didnt let me down doing all of my favorite songs such as Special K, Every You Every Me, and Meds. The next band that came on was the main reason I was interested in Projekt Revolution and that was HIM. For some reason i felt really left down by HIMs performance. It seemed like Ville was trashed and at one point stopped in the middle of a song to tell the durmmer Gas he was playing it wrong. Even with that they performed 3 of the new songs from their upcoming release Venus Doom. Next was Taking Back Sunday who i wasnt really interested in seeing. Apparently it was only half of Taking Back Sunday that performed because the 2nd guitarist wasnt there due to his wife having a baby and they had the guitarist from Saosin fill in and the Drummer severly injured back so they had the drummer from The Bled fill in. I really didnt enjoy seeing them perform but i must say the last 2 songs they did were extremly catchy and the rest of the crowd enjoyed. The next band to take the stage was My Chemical Romance who i wasnt excited to see but they really turned me into a sortof fan. They put together a really elaborate stage show with tons of lights flames and pyro which really made it fun to watch. They did all of their big hits from their prior releases which had the crowd singing along the whole time. Some funny moments from their set included Gerard telling the crowd that the girls are beating the guys asses in cheering which made me laugh because My Chemical Romances fanbase is primarily girls. Another funny part was when Gerard ended up wearing a pink feathered boa while strutting around on stage. The last band and headliners was Linkin Park who I used to be a huge fan of until I lost interest in.I can say after seeing them live theyve won be back. They performed all their huge hits Crawling, Numb, Faint, Bleed It Out, Given Up, Somewhere I Belong, Papercut, In The End, One Step Closer. They put on a really killer show and left the crowd wanting more all of the crowd started pounding on chairs and clapping and yelling as lound as possible and they came out and did 3 or 4 more songs. This was my first big show in a stadium setting which i must say sortof left me feeling empty not having interaction with the bands such as in the prior club shows I've been to. Overall however this show was a pretty good tune up for Vains Of Jenna, CKY, Gwar, Cradle Of Filth Show next month.
