Long time no blog. But at 24 bits dial-up you can understand I'd prefer to get communications directly from my email,
annabanana@asis.com.
For about a year I have been rehearsing with a trio, Ray Moreta on drums and Bill Andrews on bass. We are working on my original music, specifically my jazz ballads and some blues. The tone is terrific and you can hear a couple of the tunes on my website,
www.annahamilton.net
We are recording now and hope to have a CD release tour by the Fall. If you would like to book us, please email me, or leave a message on my cell,

I've been jamming electric on Tuesdays at the Jambalaya in Arcata, Ca. If you're in the area bring your axe and have the Blues!
I am also doing a radio talk show once a month. Find me on www.KMUD.org in the archives, or tune into KMUD on the First Friday of the month at 7pm to hear "Rant and Rave, Lock and Load and Shoot Your Mouth Off".
For those wondering how the Mateel lawsuit went, the Judge, seeing that the Producer's lawyers were planning to drag it out forever, forced a mediation. The Mateel was awarded $5oo,ooo, but the Producer got the show. She has since gone bankrupt and lost her interest in Reggae Rising to her former partner in the swindle. Funny how it all works out.
The Mateel is doing a much smaller one day Reggae on the River at Benbow State Park this Summer. The organization is still reeeling from the split. Most noticable is the absence of an Administrator to direct longterm projects and write grants. Right now the Mateel is staying open by producing events in the hall, putting us back in the corrution known as the music business instead of community service. Whether the Mateel will ever regain the stature it had during Kathryn Labotto's tenure as Director remains to be seen. Losing her was a bigger loss than losing Reggae, and was caused by the constant tension of trying to protect the Mateel from the predatory business practices of the Producer. When Kathryn left the gates were unguarded, thus it was that the Board adrift fell prey to swindle. You can laugh it off on $10 Comedy night, First Fridays of the month, at the Mateel in Redway, Ca.
