On Christmas morning, my lovely wife Kim gave me a number of great gifts that stoked the flames of passion in my geeky little heart. She gave to me the complete Marx Brothers film library on DVD. Remarkable! The only less likely box set to receive from a woman would be the Complete Three Stooges (a few years back she did give me a large, excellent Stooges throw blanket).
This would have been enough, but then...
She astonished me with the Five Disc Ultimate Blade Runner collection in HD. My jaw dropped in nerdy bliss. It was the limited edition silver "Dekkard" briefcase with a Spinner car replica, Unicorn figurine, Illustration and Photo cards, and a lenticular Motion Film Clip of Harrison Ford in lucite. It has the Final Cut version, as well as the Directors Cut, International Cut, U.S. Theatrical Cut and Original Work Print all in High Definition Glory. AWESOME. I am in geek heaven. It's enough to make me forget that Warners went Blue Ray and took a dump on my HD parade.
On top of that, Kimmy also gave me two books on Bettie Page
The best gift of all though, is to be married to my best friend and number one geek enabler. I love you Kimmy!
Happy New Year everyone. May 2008 carry much geeky joy for you all.
