Dear Sir/Madam,
I’m writing to tell you what’s been going on in RGB land since we left you last. My my, there’s a lot gone on, so Polly put the kettle on….
Winter had us hibernating in various recording studios with a multitude of record producers including Dom Morley ( Amy Winehouse, Mark ronson, Adele, Morrissey, The Verve) who’s a lovely and amazing friend of ours, along with The Slips (CSS, Madonna, Bjork), Dan Clarke (David E Sugar) Stu Ramsay (Thecocknbullkid) and Andrew Friendly who runs a cool label called ‘Gulp Communications’ . We re-conceived, re-birthed, murdered then revived about 16 of our songs. Oh-my-days what a journey it was, and we don’t think it’s ever going to end but you can check out some of it here OR even better, come and check us out live. Next gig is Friday 14th May at the Arc in Brighton as part of the Great Escape festival.
Hey, our friends Trash Fashion also did a club smashing remix of Everlaster which you can check out on our site.
Our lovely and gorgeous friends at ‘US’ led by Tim Brown, did an amazing job of our new identity. He makes beautiful music videos, art, photography and design and as a team they decided to paint black stripes on us and make us camouflage against a stripy wall. Harriet had to paint on Robin’s gentleman’s area, tee heeee! He has also just made a wicked music vid for our friend Marina (of the Diamonds variety) and did one for our Saint Saviour’s solo video here. You can check out the rest of the photos on our myspace or contact anna@the-angle.com if you want a copy of the presspack.
Harriet takes life painting to another level.
So, as we said, we have been recording a lot of our own music and have found some really cool people out there to work with. In addition to this, Saint Saviour has also been beavering away, co-writing music with our big brother act, Groove Armada, for what’s been billed as their ‘most exciting album to date’, Black Light. She will be joining them on tour, which will include the Sunday headline slot at Lovebox this year. Booyakasha! Although wethinks sharing the stage with the New York Dolls may just tip her over the edge....She’s been advised not to wear the white leotard. Duran Duran, Florence and the Machine, VV Brown and Doves are also confirmed, and of course we are also playing on Sunday! See you there! (Click on the picture below to grab day tickets)
If you are on any of the networking sites, check us out on Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, and Bebo (if you’re ten) and if wer’e missing out on any other time consuming networking activities, let us know.
Hell yeah! Youre simply not going to believe this but Saint Saviour has only gone and written a house-tastic ditty for the one and only soul legend, genius vocalist on ‘Young Hearts Run Free’ and ‘You Got The Love’, Candi Staton! Blimmin heck, what next eh? A shack up with Elton and Bernie? That sure sounds like a party but we doubt it. Anyway, watch this space for more news on that beauty.
