F.A.Q
What’s good ma? Either you don’t know how to spell man or you think I’m a woman, or you failed to spell either correctly. Which ever one it is look again and come up with a better line.
How long you been doing this? I’ve always liked making things with my hands like sculpture and jewelry but started making designs on clothes about 5 years ago. It started out simple enough with paint then I combined that with beads. Next I moved to crystal rhinestones, velvet and other fabrics, and embroidering. Now I am trying to combine all the materials in different ways and even taking the design off clothing and directly onto the body.
Can you make me 5 dozen shirts? I won't say no, but it depends on how complex the design is and if you can afford the labor. Everything I make is by hand so unless the design takes less than ten minutes to apply it might be around $200 for the labor. The only machine I might use is a sewing machine, other than that I use my own two hands. All rhinestones are glued one at a time, stitches sewn one at a time, and paint with one stencil at a time, hence one of a kind. If you are looking to purchase more than one shirt I unfortunately can not offer a discount, each piece will cost the full price no matter how many you order.
Can you make me a shirt? I can but you’re going to have to give more to go on than that. I need an idea a design or a general direction you would like to go in. Most of the designs I have made I did not design. I design the manner in which the design is applied. You could take a logo for example and put it on a shirt using 7 or 8 different methods. Each will display the same logo it will just be using different materials. If you want letters I need to know what size, font, and color. I could spend a few hours on your piece so make it a design or an idea you have put some thought into.
I’m a model/photog/director/artist/dj can I trade with you for a piece of your work? Yes I do make pieces for "free" if what I get in return is of equal or greater value to me. I love to work with people who have a real vision of what they want in their head and just need someone to help them create it. I see myself as being the hands to your mind. However keep in mind I will not be taken advantage of. I do appreciate your interest in promoting my work but do some research, see if we are on the same page so to speak. See if what you have to offer might open doors in the right direction. I never hesitate to look people up, are their "connections" legitimate, is it really worth my time an energy? I suggest you do that same. You must provide past work, tear sheets, or examples of what you plan on doing with the piece. The more time I spend on your piece to more I expect in return.
Can I model your clothes? Depends. Most of to things I make are for people so once I finish the piece I send it to them. What I do have I have made for myself and unless you wear a 2XL to L it might look like a dress. I rarely make something and hold onto it but if I do I will let you know. It’s not a simple as shipping a box of clothes to you to model. Each piece takes me hours to make and in an odd way I get possessive over them, a bit like my child’s first day at school.
Will the rhinestones come off in the wash? It depends on how close they are glued together. I have made a shirt that I have washed numerous times and none of the stones have fallen off. They haven’t fallen off because I glued each stone on with spaces in between all of them. However I would advise to play it safe and hand wash anything with stones.
How long does it take to make one shirt? It depends on how big the design is, how much detail there is, and what materials I am using. I have spent anywhere from 2 hrs to 80 hrs on one piece. You get what you pay for. A 12 hr shirt will look a lot more interesting than a 3 hr shirt even if it’s the same design or logo.
I am not so creative these days. Do you have any already created items to view or purchase?
I don’t have any items in stock because I’ve sent them out to the people I made them for, however if there is something that I have already made that you like, I can tweak it to better suit your taste. I can also embellish on a logo or design on clothing that you already own.
What are your prices? The prices depends on the labor and the materials used to make your piece. I do everything by hand so you need to give me as munch information so I can give you an accurate quote.
