In September of 2005, Dan and I bought a used Jeep Cherokee Sport. We called him Trucky (and sometimes Mega-X). Trucky had many great adventures with us. Please see below for a photo of Trucky's first day with us:

Trucky once carried us through a particularly bad snowstorm in the Rocky Mountains. We had a special package with us -- a very frightened and sick Hunter, who we had just bought from the pet store in Denver. We had to pull off the road and sit out a portion of the storm, and Trucky kept the new Rahekinson family member warm and safe.

He was with us for our move to California, being towed behind the U-Haul. He was all but unrecognizable upon our arrival to Los Angeles, as the salt from the winter roads had completely covered him.

Trucky was with us for weekend drives along the Pacific Coast Highway - his back windows completely snot-covered by the noses of two overly eager Pointers.

Trucky has now gone to that great car gig-in-the-sky. Traded in for a new Honda Fit. He just didn't belong in Southern California -- he needed snow and dirt roads and lower gas prices. I hope he will go to a family who will love him like we did. He was a good car.

We look forward to the adventures we will have in our new Fit -- tentatively named the Blue Bee "Bluby" (Dan has neither confirmed nor denied his approval of said name). Please find below a picture of Bluby. We are very excited about him.

Oh, Alicia. How I miss those sunny afternoons, lying in the grass listening to your stories...

The other day Mom said that you had some "new blue hatchback car" but couldn't give me any further details. She is great for half stories. I like the color.

Also, Ryan would like to know if you got the paddle shifters?

No, ours has a manual transmission. It is also the base (aka cheap!) model, which doesn't come with paddle shifters anyway. BUT -- it does have a "magic seat" (that sounds really awful, but I swear that's what Honda calls it) which folds down flat and is totally awesome.

"Some new blue hatchback" pretty accurately describes the car so your mom gets props for that.
