In 2006 Marcel Woods became part of Trance Energy folklore when his smash hit 'Advanced' was played by every single artist that took to the stage. In 2008 the track was widely regarded as the pinnacle of Tiesto's own show stopping TE performance.
Now having toured the rest of the world with his Musical Madness concept, Marcel returns to the main stage when Trance Energy 2009 roars back into Utrecht's Jaarbeurs Centre on March 7th 2009.
Joining Marcel on the main stage for what will be an amazing 6th appearance for the ID&T-organised showcase, will be fellow Dutchman and World Number 1 Armin Van Buuren, and German heavyweight Paul Van Dyk. With a line-up of this magnitude, Trance Energy 2009 is sure to be Marcel's biggest yet - and you could be right there in the thick of it with this amazing competition!

Since our last newsletter, Marcel has taken in dance floors in the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands. Cyprus in particular provided the Dutch music-meister with a truly unforgettable experience, the promoters picking him up from the airport in a P-Diddy style stretch limousine - now THAT'S how you do it!! |

2009 couldn't have kicked off with a better start for Marcel - headlining the In Search Of Sunrise event in the Caribbean getaway of Puerto Rico. Underneath a tropical sun Marcel joined Tiesto, Steve Lawler, Robbie Rivera and Kyau vs Albert for a truly sensational party. |

Big news from Marcel this month is that his remix of Rank 1's official Trance Energy theme tune will be released as a CD single in February. Keep you eyes pealed on all Marcel's website for more information about getting your hands on a copy! Also it seems that one of you has been more than a little bit inspired by Marcel's music. |

"What a wonderful gig to start the year with, a gig on the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico to be precise! I was on the line-up for the In Search Of sunrise tour with Tiesto. Besides being part of a great gig for thousands of Puerto Rican people me and my wife spend some fabulous days at the beach... :) I know I know.... Ha ha.
After that my first gig was for the always-exciting Gallery in London, which was truly something else. The next day it was straight back on a plane again for one of my gigs in Holland, and what a stormer was that! Trance Nation was amazing, with the Hemkade venue rammed to the brim! Not only was the dance floor great but I also got to play along side some of my friends, which for me just adds to the fun of the night; Rank 1 & Jochen Miller and I had a great time behind the decks with a perfect response from the crowd. |

Then after a week holed up in the studio, it was back to one of the best crowds in the world, and that could only mean one thing! Glasgow Inside Out!!! Do we need to say more?! It was great to see every single one of you guys who turned up and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!!
Now normally January is always a bit slow, but I have to say if the rest of my 2009 diary goes like it's started, then I'll be clocking up these miles like never before!
