Category: News and Politics
In the intervals of six-seven years massacres occur in Africa.
The current one is in the western Sudan.
Now, I'd say that the European and U.S. viewers are developing immunity against the photos of terror that we sometimes see on the news.
I don't blame them; they have a life to live as well and can't be bothered by a "bunch of savages" that never learn.
The problem that I'm facing is of different character, the one of helplessness.
Being a human I ask myself "what can I do to help"? And that's what I'm on about in this article.
Nothing!
There's absolutely nothing any of us can do to change the course of things in such an environment, but watch with horror.
I'm not a fool, therefore I know that every conflict in the history of mankind had an economic background and so does this one.
Superpowers created this war just like they did the others in recent years, at least that is obvious.
I'm not going to be guessing the reasons, but whatever they are, the consequences are going to be the U.S. and G.B. military presence in the region for decades to come.
Just remember Kosovo. All the west wanted was to secure the corridor for the Caspian sea oil, and perhaps destabilize the region a bit so that their future presence may be justified.
So we all know who pulls the strings, but it still doesn't justify the local assassins who are often found in the shape of the government forces or the rebels.
Now whose fault is it that we allow ourselves such stupidity to let the others divide and rule?
As the things stand on the ground in Darfur, you have 300 000 people dead , 2 000 000 people displaced, thousands raped and made orphans…
On the other hand you have the government forces ravishing the area, two fractions of rebels who seized the opportunity to be involved in the political life of the country(politics=money), the janjaweed militias which are a case for a mental hospital… black people who claim Arab descent and therefore murder their neighbors with a different ethnic background. A unique case of collective color blindness.
I would love to see them in an Arab country trying to integrate, and find a job other than a kitchen porter.
And there of course are the future peace keepers. UN soldiers paving the way for the big oil companies when the area is cleared.
So how can I help?
Writing an article isn't going to make any difference, in fact the only reason I write is to wash myself of the possible involvement in contributing to the system to survive.
So after I numbered the reasons for human catastrophe in Darfur would it be unhuman to ask god that they may all burn in hell?
