Current mood: aggravated
Okay, I admit it. There are times when I'll do just about anything to avoid the work that needs doing. But right now, with my house a wreck because workmen are repairing my flood damage, I have an excuse, damn it. So I'm into my TV watching mode again. Yeah, I'm an addict and proud of it. But, please, what's with these short seasons?
Case in point: True Blood is almost over already. Noooo. Okay, I cried when Godrick went up in smoke, even though I'd read the book and knew it was coming. But, come on, people, make a few more episodes between breaks. And Being Human on BBCAmerica. It's getting really good and, oops, only one more show to go. Are you kidding me? Where is my vampire fix coming from? Vampire Diaries? Which starts when? And what if I don't like it? And if I do? Did they make more than eight or nine episodes? This is ridiculous.
Really enjoying Drop Dead Diva. So I figure it's about time for them to pull the plug on that show next. Argh. Burn Notice is on break. So is In Plain Sight. Tonight's the season finale of The Closer. Is TV a wasteland or what? So You Think You Can Dance is coming back soon. And Glee looks interesting. Not that we can forget about it. Have you ever seen so many commercials for a show? But what's with dumping Paula Abdul from Idol? She was at least interesting. Sure, she was off her meds, but, come on, give the girl some credit for having a wardrobe.
As for other procrastination exercises, hit the Internet. Be sure to visit my fan sites. First, there's the one here on Myspace run by Heather. The Glory fan site has questions of the day and other fun stuff. There's also the one on the web run by Dani and Heather. Check out gerrybartlett.com for the links. I've given them both inside info on Glory and myself for your reading pleasure. Also I will sign bookplates for you. Find out how to get them at one of those sites. Yes, signing stuff and running to the post office is also a way for me to procrastinate.
Lately I've met a couple of fans down at my shop in Galveston. Fun! I'm not there very often so it was pure chance. Be sure to email me if you think you're going to be down this way and I'll let you know my work schedule. I'd hate for you to drive all that way for nothing. Though you could shop, buy some antiques or vintage clothes, waste some time... It's hot this time of year, but a great way to kill time. And what should I be doing? Writing book 6, of course. But I've got allergy issues from all this dust. And my friend Nina Bangs says we should go out to dinner and brainstorm with another writer friend. Ah, procrastination. Don't you love it?
