Profile Q&A from my original Change.org page

Nonprofits I have worked or volunteered for or financially support:
The Water Project.org, Christian Children's Fund (now Child Fund International), Feed The Children, Life Outreach International-Mission Feeding and Water For Life, Imus Ranch For Kids With Cancer,The Hunger Site, The Child Health Site, Special Olympics, United Way, United Blood Services, Toys For Tots, Put A Smile On A Child's Face, El Fondo De Ninos, Kiva.org and various other local charities.

About Me:
There is nothing special about me other than I'm truly concerned about all the needless suffering in the world, and while I'm only one person; I hope to leave this world a little better place for my having been in it by doing what I can to ease the suffering of as many people as I can. I have no interest in material gain or concern myself with existing for my own sake. I enjoy being of help to others and I'm motivated in this way rather than in expending energy on personal gain just for the sake of obtaining wealth. I'm not trying to get brownie points with a supreme creator / God, or build up good karma or anything self-serving like that. It just absolutely breaks my heart to see needless suffering, or worse; loss of precious life (especially children) due to the lack of things that we take for granted such as basic clean water or simple daily sustenance.
I am a musician, and while music isn't a source of much income; it is a means of helping support the charities and organizations that are making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate than myself. These are the special people without whom we might not be able to help in some of these distant places.
Political Orientation:
N/A
If I had a million dollars to simply give away, I would:
Ensure that all my immediate family has at the very least, sufficient health insurance for the rest of their lives (because with good health you can work earn and invest for your future), fund some clean water wells, create some trusts for underprivileged children.
Location:
Santa Fe, N.M. USA

Rumaldo,

I just wanted to stop by and say thanks again for your continued support of our work.  We were excited to hear about your recent fundraiser, selling T-shirts, to help build wells in Kenya.  We'll take the $150 you raised and use 100% of it to help bring clean, safe drinking water to a school near Kakamega, Kenya. When the project is complete, we'll get you some photos and a GPS location so everyone who helped will know exactly how it happened.

Thanks again for all you do, both spreading the word and raising funds.  It is already doing a great good!

Thanks for the comment Peter. In light of the loss of the Change.org page on my fund raising project for The Water Project.org, it would be great if you could post pics and / or other info in this blog on what my previous fund raising project of T-shirt and CD sales that resulted in amount of $1400.00 help to fund. That way people will know what great work your organization is doing with these funds. Thanks!

Sure!

In addition to the pics and report we sent you from Zambia, you can see the good work that your fundraising did in Kenya at this link:

..Eburenga School..

We pooled the donations you made and those who gave through your original Change.org page and applied them to this project.  It has done a great good!

Thanks so much for all your hard work and dedication to this project!!

Hey Peter!

Thanks for the email and for the reply to my request here. The link to the Kenya wells for schoolchildren that you provided didn't work in your post, but I'll post it here along with the GPS to the locations of the completed projects and if I can locate them on your website the info on the new project. As I mentioned on the phone, I'm working on a different way of directing help to your efforts and that's in the way of finding corporate sponsorship. I already have a couple of companies wanting to hear more about the important work your organization is doing. This type of support I imagine would help your efforts in a bigger way than anything I could do alone through fundraising and personal donations. I'll get back to you with any news as soon as I can. Thanks for the project info!!
