........
Well here we are as we have been for
the past month at Rockfield studios in Monmouth, Wales. It's been a
long, hard month for us here working massive 14 hour days in the
studio. Everything is coming along really well though and at the end
of the day we're just so stoked to be here and to be working in such
beautiful surroundings with such well-esteemed people. The scenery
here is incredibaly pleasant. Despite the long days working, it's
amazing how relaxed we all are. If you haven't heard of Rockfield
studios a brief history lesson would reveal that it's previously
played host to such mega-bands as Black Sabbath, Queen, Oasis,
Coldplay, Motorhead and countless others as well as solo projects
from Robert Plant and Joe Strummer. It's mind blowing for us to think
of the people who have recorded in the rooms that we've been working
in over the past few weeks and it still feels like a dream that we've
even been given the opportunity to work here along with our producer
the one and only Gil Norton who's also worked with bands like The
Pixies, Foo Fighters, The Distillers, The Triffids, Echo And The
Bunny Men and yeah, the list just goes on. Also Gil is just one
hell-sweet guy, who, I can tell you, is good for a beer.
While we've been here we've also had
the opportunity to visit Stonehenge, where we were able to pay our
respects to the Gods of rock (this was a definite must-do this time
around). We also got to play at Donnington's massive Download
Festival, which seemed as though it must have had about 100,000
people attending. It was a priveledge to once again be the
most-unpopular band playing at a major festival. This seems to be a
role we enjoy playing. Something else we have enjoyed playing whilst
here is darts. I can't think of how much darts matches we have played
since we've been here, but I think we're all about ready to go pro
now. Well at least Henery (the master or the dart) is. I've decided
to ride that pony all the way to the bank. Luke reckons he could kick
Henery's arse though and so I think that makes two pony's which I
will ride to the bank, maybe. I'll need to get some money somehow
soon though, as we're definitely a long way from Mansfield. It's hard
to know if this is a good or a bad thing.
Anyways, below are some sweet photo's
also taken by Mr Henery (he is such a talent). We've got another week
to go here still before heading back, we should have tour dates to
announce in Australia and in the US in the not-too-distant future.
Until then...
Party On!
