It's been over a month now that I've returned to Berlin, Germany. Things with Jessi have stabilized and we're content with moving on with separate lives. We'll remain roommates while I wrap up a few things she's helping with, such as extending my Visa and finding a new apartment. She's a fine girl and I hope the best for her always.
Just before leaving the states, I met a woman named Sapna, who's also pretty damn great. It's a shame to have left her back in Richmond, but she's commited there for a few years. Closer to my age, tall, non-religious, educated and (wow) vegetarian, Sapna and I seem a fine pair which we hope to someday realize.
For here and now, I've found Berlin employment and a German bank account, both of which I am grateful for though neither yet has reached lofty expectations. Things continue to shape up, so maybe by next month I'll find satisfaction.
After a 7-month hiatus, I've returned focus to my music. This was my first break and I'm glad it's over. I posted a new song called "Quick to Run" which features my father's voice; I wrote the text largely from his perspective. Something is yet missing from the refrain, possibly some funky wooden shakers. Share opinions?
